Some people are lucky enough to have a real good idea about what they want to do in their retirement. Many like to continue working, although I'd say you have to really love your work if that's how you want to spend the last part of your life. Some like to get involved in volunteer work and I certainly admire those who do for being able to put their own interest aside and dedicate themselves to a greater cause. Others have well developed hobbies that they get great pleasure from, like gardening, model railroads, or tinkering with an antique car.
