Catching up Days Inn Silver Springs Florida is the worst Days Inn I've ever seen. Drive on to Ocala - plenty of hotels to choose from. We've been in the Keys a couple of days now. Our rental here on Ramrod Kay is fantastic! It's almost as big as our house in Illinois and in a great location to get to everything. The first night we were tired from a long day of driving and went to the nearby Boondocks bar. Good food and entertainment. We spent yesterday at Key West. Highlights were lunch at Salute! - right on the beach (where the food was great and relatively inexpensive) and drinks at the top of the Holiday Inn with 360 degree views. We bought tickets on the City View trolleys; it's a pretty good deal you can hop on and off all day at the various spots. Since parking spots are hard to find, it's a good way to get around. Today was supposed to be a beach day, but as soon as we loaded up the car and got there it began to rain. Plan B was driving, exploring and doing a little souvenir shopping. Once we got back to our rental home we both had a case of pure laziness. We roused ourselves in time for happy hour at Looe Key Tiki Bar just up the street from our home base. Great happy hour food and a lively crowd of mostly locals. It's a popular spot where the parking lot fills early for good reason. Music every night - worth checking out.
We're just an old married couple who love to travel. We usually take 5 or 6 trips a year. 2 or 3 of those trips will be to our place on St. Thomas, USVI. This year we are living & working in Yellowstone for the summer after a spring trip to Florida. Someone suggested that we post a blog. It sounds like a plan.... full info
