Happy 4th Hi Marilyn and Elan, it's fun to read about your travels across the West. You missed a rainy 4th, but now the sun's coming out in time for bed.
Enjoy your travels and I'll see you when I return from Colorado.
Keep writing -- it's great to hear from you My brother and I drove cross country from Boston to LA in the '70s. You are bringing it all back and it was a great trip! We didn't have Lucy, just maps. No motel reservations. Stopped at dusk. The blog is just great!!! My computer was down for more than a week so I'm catching up with you. Elan, you asked how to make your mother sleep? Take away her coffee? Or keep it decaf after lunch. Love to you both. Louise
umm.... Hey!! It was great to hear from you!!! again.....umm....Elan you have some dirt on your face, I know not showering on a road trip is cool, but you might want to take care of that.....JUST KIDDING!!! Hey do me a favor and take lots of pictures when you drive through Seattle. I love you!! oh and (Massachusetes, New York, Conn, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island) hehe
Four Corners Marilyn, I rode through Four Corners on my 750 Honda in 1972 after I got out of the navy. Stopped and took a picture of the bike there. Missed you on our lunch trip to Girdwood today! Don
You're in good hands with Xena Elan honey, I know that your license plate bearing the name "XNA" was a planned vanity plate and I'm just urging you to go with it and don't be ashamed of being a Xena fan and claiming you getting that plate was just a coincidence. Knowing that "Lucy" is directing you home gives me a grin every time I read about her bossy comments.
And of course, you'll know you're getting closer when you see the famous Alaskan Grizzly Cows--unmistakable due to their classic neck humps.
(That plate is MINE when you get home.)
zzzzz...... giver her some Sabra.....or Sambuco though I associate that with Italian Mom's.....Kalua???? hehe Mom's a light weight!!!!
I love you guys!!!!
Cow vs Bale Hi!
Great to hear from you and that you are enroute. Here are a few more tips on how to tell a cow from a hay bale at 70 mph:
4 legs = 1 cow
boxy looking = bale (unless they are the big rolled bales and if you think that is a cow then I suggest a visit to the eye doc post haste!)
twitching tail = cow
Looking forward to the pictures!
Safe driving!
Love,
Uncle David, Aunt Susan and Emma
