South Africa and Eswatini thank you so much for sharing this blog. So well put together, captures all the things we did, and such superb photos. I am amazed at how you were able to do this alongside hard days travelling, and still travelling onwards now. Good luck, we were lucky to have you on our trip. Anne
great photos! Loved seeing the photos from your trip in south africa. a travel memory just showed up on my facebook feed from 15 years ago (goes by fast) when we were doing our trans africa. ahh the good old days of traveling. looking forward to seeing and hearing about more of your adventures to help bridge the gap for when we can eventually retire. (hopefully soon 3-5 years)... take care, safe travels. Kathie.
Seems lovely Ivory Coast seems lovely. I think I would enjoy it there. Sorry to hear that they have a litter problem. They had that in Senegal and the Gamabia as well. Can you tell me a little about safety in Ivory Coast. Are there any regions that are unsafe? Do they have any border disputes or problems with terrorists? /Ake
I love all the pictures of the north. I got as far as Haines Junction in winter of 1960 when Dale worked on the Microwave towers all the say up the highway. Ended at Haines. I traveled by bus ten times from 2001 to 2008 when I was DD for Royal Purple and made trips to Whitehorse. For one event we had three chartered busses went up with Elks from all over Alberta. What fun they were. The scenery is so beautiful. And almost ever trip we saw lots of animals and many Bison around the Liard area. In the spring lots of young one.
Florence is on the most wanted list Italy has som many wonderful places I want to visit. Florence is one of those and had for many years been on my most wanted list. I was planning on going there in December but ended up in Sicily instead. I will publish blogs from that trip later this year. I am busy writing those now. /Ake
Never seen one of those That was an interesting vehicle. I've never seen one of those. I also enjoyed reading your blog on Rome and seeing your photos. Some of them were very similar to pictures I myself have published on blogs after I visited Rome. /Ake
Reflections Quite an enticing image in a puddle no doubt...cobblestones and water framing a reflection of a masterpiece. I have posted some of your pics in "Cathedrals, grand churches, mosques and places of worship" thread in the Photography Forum. Great additions and not the usual images of the domed Florence Cathedral. Check 'em out.
Thanks Our last family holiday in Europe was staying g in a villa outside of Lucca and exploring Florence, Sienna and Pisa. Thank you for bringing ginger back some great memories.
My time in Rome with Ian and Anna Our hotel was very close to The Borghese and we had to book a time to go there, big difference from your trip we had to turn in our camera at the entrance so the only pictures I have from that gallery are postcards. Your pictures are fabulous and a great reminder of the great time I had in Rome. Thanks AJ
We will put up a blog entry entirely with abandoned cars In August we visited a car cemetery (actually an abandoned car scrapyard) in western Sweden. We will eventually put up an entire blog entry with pictures from there. We'll probably get to that in January or February. We have several blogs lined up that we want to write and publish before we write that one. Hope you feel like looking at that when we get there. We have actually already posted one blog entry from another car cemetery. It is called "Unusual sightseeing in Smaland" and we published it in 2013 if you want to have a look at it. /Ake
Awesome pictures You really have some awesome pictures in that blog of yours. Seeing them I realize that I have to visit Canada one day. I'd love it there. /Ake
