Road trip photos Mags, these photos are beautiful. You have a wonderful eye. Not so easy to catch the beauty of landscapes in these muted colours (compared to the lush green and bright and deep blues we are accustomed to at home), but they are truly gorgeous.
The good, the bad... ...and the beautiful. I sure agree it must have been an unforgettable experience. Love the posts and the photos / videos. Keep 'em coming! And I'm sure in a few hours you'll be once again enjoying every minute of your journey, this time with the ellies...and the rest of the Big Five! Man, I sure wish I could tele-transport to that one, LOL. Enjoy, enjoy, and keep on enjoying, Margariiiitaaa! Will be checking the live feed and hoping you'll wave as you promised :-) xxx PS Did you finally hear the lions roaring in your sleep? :-)
Must have been so incredibly moving.... Wow. I'm now catching up with posts I missed. This one is so wonderful, and your account so thorough. Wish one day I can visit too.... xx
Margs, girl, what an experience! It must all be simply breathtaking to see on site.... Thank you for such wonderful photos that offer us all a glimpse of such exquisite beauty. So glad they protect this site so well, in spite of the concerts and other events. But at least they erect barricades and watch over, so that is good. Keep on enjoying this great trip. We miss you, but are also so happy for you :-) xx
Gardens I would have enjoyed that outing - especially if I did not have to walk!! Would have especially liked to see the owls.... I love owls too (and penguins!) Remember that many concerts and plays are held in gardens in the U.K. during the summer - Hyde Park, Kew gardens. It is a perfect setting after a long hot day when the sun is setting and darkness drawing down. Try it is you can!
Yes you would have loved the gardens I thought of you and Barbara and Mummy. All of you could have hopped on the buggy and enjoyed the beautiful sights and scents and the scenery
so kool Reminds me of the grandiose tanks at the aquarium in Guadeloupe. Glad all is well and a wonderful time is being had. The time will slip by so quickly. Greetings to Alison.
Enjoying Reading Enjoyed seeing your photos here - I'm looking forward to the Robben Island installment which, I expect, will be stark in town - but I'm curious about the physical terrain of Robben Island too and what it seems like now, after all that's happened there. Read you soon! Take care, MJAC.
Wow! Sounds and looks fantastic! The penguins in particular look really cute. Would love to see the video if you ever manage to upload it. Your beaming face shows you're having a ball.
Baboons A friend of mine spent 3 months touring South & South West Africa last year in a camper with her husband, had very different tales to tell of baboons. So watch out it's early days for you yet.
Baboons Everyone keeps telling me the baboons are real and I will def see them. And Table Mountain is just as elusive because the winds or mist have to be right I.e. Absent ... for the cable ride to operate. Today we hoped to go but it's a windy overcast morning. Maybe tomorrow.
SENDING BEST VIBES What a wonderful trip. Busy here but following you all the way. Keep the photos coming. Have the BEST time, ladies! Enjoy EVERY single minute...Bless,
I want more! Yes—you need to write when you're in waiting for whatever (you have your iPad now!) That way, you only need to do some final polishes / additions at the end of those glorious, long days and, bam! Post before bedtime! Wonderful to read how hospitable and nice people have been so far—from those who lodged you / transported you both—Alison, Dave, Jean—down to the guy at the Cape Town airport. I sense you're going to have such a memorable journey, girl. I, on the other hand, am debating on the following right now: “To Jouvert or not to Jouvert: that is the question!” LOL! If I do—with George—I will sure miss you, lady!
(Tsamina mina, eh eh
Waka waka, eh eh

This time for Africa!)
