Hey Lindsey! Hope you have a safe travel back to St. Catharines! I look forward to seeing you and catching up. This entry was really nice to read and probably provided you with a lot of great closure. I especially liked the last paragraph... I fully support that message! Thank you for reminding me about it because I feel like sometimes we forget about it in the midst of our busy lives. xox
fivesies The scenery and colour of the water is beautiful! I am glad the weather held out for you with no rain, just lots of glorious sun for the day!
I need to go and have my fivesies! I will keep you posted on how Trick or Treating goes tonight!
Rottnest Island looks amazing Linds! I'm so glad you made it there! Matt and I were talking the other day about how it's just not the same around here without you. It's too quiet! There aren't nearly enough random stories being told. Enjoy your last couple of weeks!
Deers! I love your story about the kangaroos following you! The deer at Marineland do the same thing -to the point that it is scary as you run out of food, and realize they are still swarming, and still hungry!! I guess every zoo has the same thing - of course I think the kangaroos are a bit cuter - especially when the little joey is in the pouch!
Glad you are having a good time, the weather here is bad. We had a big storm last night, and today is just the dreary sort of day... at least we expect sunshine on the weekend!
Allison
Sounds like you're starting to get out and see more things now! I'm glad you had a good weekend :) I'm loving the pictures, and can't wait to see more!
Hey Linds!
Awesome photos and stories! I love the pic of the Kangaroo with the little joey, so cool to see! Glad you're able to get out and explore, it sounds like youre having a good time over there?
xo
loving the photos of the animals and sand dunes. those look like amazing experiences! nothing new here, just scholarship applications, stats assignments and same old boring school stuff. much love and can't wait to read about your other adventures! xo
I loved the story, it made me smile! :) Your description of the prison sounded like Alcatraz in San Fransisco, my relatives have toured it and I've seen it on movies. Also, the sunset photo is beautiful. It has been raining on and off here all week (I got caught in it this morning biking to campus), so you're not missing much nice weather lately. Take care!
man vs spider To be fair to Stefan's low price of risking himself, aren't beers in Australia huge? Like 2-3 Canadian beer cans in one Australian beer can?
Have fun at the BBQ!
This is a pretty awesome blog update Linds. There were a number of great quotes ;) My personal favourite being re: Sunday vice satisfaction.
I\'m still reeling from the huntsman spider incident, and it didn\'t even happen to me. I love how your landlord, the one who should be the most experienced with these monsters, tells you that YOU have to kill it. Perhaps we should sent Matt over there with a Swiffer... ;)
!! I figure as long as the thing I must capture or kill can't fly, I'll go after it. But that sounds and looks like a scary spider! Lindsey, it sounds as if you are having a great time and being productive as heck, so way to go. And the Discovery Channel thing, holy cow!
Thanks for including me! Thanks for including us again. We loved reading abouot you China adventures, and we can't wait to hear about Australia! Enjoy.
Hey Lindsey!
Nice to know you've arrived safely in Perth. Your blog is always really great to read!! What would you like me to do with the stuff that arrives for you in our mailbox?
Can't wait to hear/see more about your travels! Good luck with the project :)
Malvina
Clearly I had to go and look up huntsman spiders, just to see. I am fairly certain I would pass out if I came across that in real life. I really hope you never do! I am glad to see you're making friends with the cats :) And that you appear to have a mattress on your bed!
G'DAY! Linds! Loved the post. The pictures are lovely and your room looks a good size!! I thought the lady you were living with was going to drive you to the university?
WE MISSSSSSSSSSSS YOU!! Glad you hear things are going well. Can't wait till you come home. VSS is SO soooooon! You'll probably be all travelled out by the time you get back...but matt and I always talk about how much we miss you and when we have conversations about silly things, we sometimes try to guess what you would say if you were here!!!!!
So-o-o interesting Hi Lindsey,
You are having so many wonderful experiences--and, of course, a few stressful ones. What a great accomplishment to give your presentation as a graduate student! Good job! Also, you were so persevering as you worked through the camera difficulties, How frustrating that must have been! I hope all "runs smoothly" the rest of the trip. The scenery is just outstanding in your pictures.
It does seem that the time has gone by very quickly.
We are getting ready for Easter around here. Easter Breakfast Potluck is Sunday. Your mom is such a great help. I'm leaving shortly to buy some fresh flowers for the tables and some treats for the kids. We have had rain for most days. It has been one gray day following another. I'm so ready for bright spring colors, beautiful flowers, and SUNSHINE. But, whatever the weather, it will be a beautiful and joyous Easter Sunday.
We miss you. I hope you have a blessed Easter Sunday wherever you are.
Blessings, Marilyn
GREAT Wall! I am glad you got to the Great Wall!! I found it very impressive and daunting in size and scale - and that there was little order to it - it just seemed to wind over every hill in the area!!
Did you have a guide at the Forbidden City? Or at least hear about the one building that was for the Empress where she would go and schedule her husbands time with the assorted Concubines!!!
We did not go into the mausoleum, but the guide told us that some residents go there every morning to pay their respects.
I am glad you are having a great time, and I hope the conference went well!
See you in a few weeks!!
