It seems your picture looks better I wish mine had the name of the maker on the back . I like it any how and I am happy I kept all these years .
What a great journal and what a great place. Lisa, the picture of you is terrific -- just like I remember you. You're so beautiful. Thanks for keeping on with your travelog.
Thanks for taking me back I never lived in Chicago, but I lived in Boston and loved it. The city in winter was beautiful and exciting. Your description of Chicago and the pictures took me back to my days in Boston. But, oh, I would love to see Chicago. I've only seen O'Hare. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Still laughing Hey...I enjoyed the whole blog but was particularly humored by the reference to number 1 in the directions part. Too funny. Helen looks very friendly, too. Hugs...Deb
Boy King of Memphis Dear Anonymous,
Very good. I remember showing Elvis in a King Tut outfit in Art Appreciation class. Were you, by chance, a student in my art appreciation class?
Looking Good Hi Leisa
As usual you have taken some fabulous photo! I think this is what you should do for a living. Travel the world to all the fabulous places to see, and take pictures of all of it, and of course give us your commentary. You are so good at this. It could be a best selling book as well.
love Jamie
Winchester Cathedral Leisa your photos are beautiful. As usual your narratives well written and enlightening. It still makes me sad that I did not get there.
Love,
Mom
Fabulous Photo's Leisa
These pictures are awesome.! After I read everything you wrote about your day at the Cathedral I scrolled down to look at all the pictures and I sware I felt the energy of ancient times. I felt like I was standing with you in the cathedral feeling the the vastness of this magnificent place. You are a fabulous photographer as you feel a part of what you take pictures of. Love Jamie
thank you Aunt Leisa
Thank you for talking pictures of the mummies for me. I really like them allot. They were the best. I like the one of Artemidorous the most because of your funny comment about him.
Love Azriel
thanks for the museum tour Leisa
These pictures are fabulous! It is amazing how much time and energy they put into the coffins. The detail work is wonderful. I think it would be very cool for us to do this in this day and age. Thank you for sharing your visit with the rest of us. Love Jaime
Two Mummy Cases These shots were all fascinating but my favorite was the woman mummy case...I love how the detail they captured where you see her little bit of a tummy and the wrinkles in the fabric. Oh no, I must be punch drunk...mummy tummy. Sorry.
Dear Leisa,
Once again another pinnacle of participation!
You will return to the States as GB-experts.
Reminds me of my visit in the mortuary at 12 for my report on the circulatory system.
Thank you and
Kindest, Carl
Hi! Interesting... looking at these pictures takes my mind on a journey to wonder what their lives were and what happened to them. Brain Time Warp. I'm glad your back. I've been missing your blogs. First thing I did this morning was to see if you had posted. Call me a junkie. :)
Let us know Dear Amber,
I tasted goose at a Polish restaurant in Berlin and thought it was a little greasy, some what like duck, although the flavor was better than duck.

You look cute as ever and so does Ah-Lee.
I am still enjoying my cut and get compliments from the folks whose opinion I respect. My cut really grew on me, particularly after I had a chance to play with it
What fun! It is good to see you and Jay had such a fantastic visit in Amsterdam. Both Mark and I really enjoyed Amsterdam. It was one the only places we visited that he said he could imagine living for a few years. I feel certain all the water and boats had something to do with his reaction. What struck me most was the happiness in everyone's face, from the very young to the very mature. Now, tell more, possibly there were a few off-line visits, like the red-light district and the coffee shops. I hear they have really good coffee.
Brings Back Great Memories Leisa, While all your blogs have been great, this is my favorite. I am currently visiting my sister Linda in the East Bay and was able to share this one with her. We first saw Amsterdam in 1957 -- this brings back great memories. Loving your blogs -- but can't wait until you return to Prairie Crossing! Sharyn
I am a visual artist (painter) who lives in northern Illinois (halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee). My husband, Jay Kalbrener, and I started this blog when we spent 4 months in Great Britain (July 2 through October 31, 2007). The experience of documenting our travels in this blog has been so much fun for everyone concerned that we decided to blog our travels in the United States and our upcoming trip to Rome.... full info
