New Year's Day - Not feeling too bright today - 2007 was such a hard and traumatic year for us both following the devastating ectopic pregnancy and subsequent events. So to cheer ourselves up we decided to go for a New Year Day's walk around Westerham and Chartwell (country home of Sir Winston Churchill), in Kent. It was a lovely, if cold walk, crossing streams, meadows, parkland and rolling hills. As romantic as this sounds, the whole route was extremely muddy - we squelched and squelched, for the whole 3 hours of the walk in mud! We kept on meeting fellow walkers who encouraged us by saying the mud improved further along - but it never did. We still thoroughly enjoyed the walk.
