I arrived in Santiago de Chile at 4:30 this morning after spending 30 hours on a bus from Arica, Chile. Before that, it was 6 hours on a bus from Arequipa, Peru to Tacna, Peru, and then an hour in a taxi crossing the border and going through customs from Tacna to Arica. Basically, I spent almost 48 straight hours traveling. The trip was entirely desert as well. I've never in my life seen so much sand. I was lucky to have been harassed by a taxi driver the minute I stepped off the bus in Tacna, because 3 kids who were about my age came up and asked me if I wanted to come with them.
