Show us some more of the haircut That shot of the cooking is a good view of the haircut, but would like to see it from the front, too!
Thanks for all the 'daily living' shots - it's great to see the places you talk about.
Think you could get the choral director to take a shot of all of Choral Society and post it on the blog?
They really are super friendly. And I'm SO glad they speak English. I don't think I could handle all this AND another language.
Yay for Yellow Springs.
My mom says you've read McCarthy's Bar? A guy at Brother Bear gave it to me about two days before I left and told me to read it. I got about seven pages in, but I liked the seven pages!
I got homesick just before Christmas. I have never been homesick before and it was very strange. I think it manifested itself because i can't go home. Karen does not have a passport and i wouldn't go without her. Also it was the build up to christmas when everybody else goes family crazy.
I was incredibly distracted (more so than usual) and very, very short tempered. I didn't realize what was wrong and it only dawned on me just immediately before christmas. Anyway it has gone now. I am now stupidly busy and couldn't give a fig what my family are up to. I don't miss England at all, I miss the sea a bit but any sea would fix that. I don't miss my friends. It was purely and simply family that i missed.
Moving to America was a massive wernch for Karen. She nearly had a breakdown. Yellow Springs saved her, hopefully the Irish people will save you.
Teaching us Thanks for teaching your blog readers history and culture and commerce! It's very interesting to read the blog and learn these things, small and large. Other people comment to me on things they've read here. Malt and hot milk is not a combination I would have ever considered - but now I'm gustatorially curious!
Cheering! Cheering you on and celebrating your successes! Smart and resourceful of you to research and read up on the processes that accompany the experience, and to talk to folks about it.
I can imagine you standing on the cliffs of Ardmore, an Atlantic breeze blowing your bangs back from your face, surrounded by centuries-old dry stack treasures. I can almost feel it. What a great opportunity to see some of the countryside.
Looking forward to hearing more about the singing. Wondering if you are singing in the apartment, too? Show tunes probably!
