Hao jiu bu jian (...or "long time no see"). Sorry to hear you've been ill but very glad to hear you're OK now. I'm guessing you get the Travelblog via the website now so you don't need to be on the mailing list. Watch this space. China is still an amazing place.....
Long time no connect Hi Dave,
I have been off the air for around 7 months... I have been unwell, but I'm back on track now thank goodness!
I look forward to hearing about your world in China.... I don't have much news apart from being in an exhibition soon in Adelaide. ciao, Jane
Re: Like a headless chicken? I don't eat the head personally but others like the heads of various creatures. I'm sure anyone who has eaten a Macca's burger has eaten far worse than tortoiseshell!
A good body Well, a functioning body at least. Yes, they drive on the right MOST of the time although people drive & ride on all parts of the road in all directions in many cases. Officially the right!
A Good Body We wouldn't know about the body David....... However, the mind is another matter, and the mind is in fine shape. Thanks again for showing us China through your eyes. We continue to enjoy every observation. It looks as though the traffic should drive (officially) on the right - is this right? No need to answer right away. Try that one on Max - his response should be worth noting...........
Keep up the good work,
Jackie
not in a million years............. would you get me within radar distance of the screaming frog! I think I would have died on the spot if I had been there & realised! You're a brave man Gungadin!.xx
blog vs inbox It is lovely to see the accompanying selected photos with the blog. I would still love to receive the text version in my inbox (thank you for that special consideration) but would it be okay to stick me back on the regular mailing list with the link for this blog, for those times when I don't have to be stingy with my downloads?? Thanks, Dave.
PS do you have a link for the week of around 6/9? I seem to have missed that one ...
Entymologically challenged thanks for that bit of erudition - I thought it looked like something I'd seen before but anyway, it's beautiful. I wish the tropical butterflies here in Jiangsu would stand still a little longer.....
Love this Hi Dave - this is the monarch butterfly - common all over the world - a true cosmopolitan fly by night as it migrates across thousands of miles.
I have grown the plants in my garden that the caterpillars feed on and raised a whole brood!!
cheers
Lingua Franca interview Thankyou for your engaging interview with Maria Zijlstra, and the amazing photographs.
I have worked the past 11 years in secondary school assisting, among other students with learning needs, a delightful number of ESL students. Your recount of language experiences with the Chinese students put a smile on my face...English can be such a challenge!
I am currently studying primary teaching. At present I'm enjoying TESOL studies and would like to travel again one day to share my knowledge, just as you are doing now.
Thanks again for the opportunity to listen to you speak of your experiences,
Vicki
