Happy to receive David, I missed you when you came to Suzhou! You know why? You were texting an inoperational number. And I was a little inoperational myself. I'll be in Yangzhou for the week of the spring festival. How about you? Send me an email!
life goes on... Hey Dave, I'm still enjoying these blogs of yours. Seems like things are chugging along pretty well. You're right, this Chinese is a hard slog. But it doesn't hurt to know your Chongqing saliva chicken from your toothpick meat. hehe...
Good to hear from you Dave! Yet another interesting account of your experiences in China... and good pics to go with it! I hope you continue to enjoy yourself. Ciao, Jane
Well done Bro! Great pictures, Marathon Man! Good to read all the tortuous details. Have a great long weekend. We are off on Monday to Madeira. Back on the 9th. Catch up later that week.xxxx
Ditto... ...good to hear from you too. Wasn't sure you were getting the YYW. I used to work at Ellex Medical, next door to Christie's Walk & watched the progress there with interest. Do you have one of the apartments there? Send some pics!!
Made it... Hi Martin, thanks for that. For an indolent, lazy slob 2 and a half hours was not too bad, though not close to the record of around 1 hour! Think what I could do if I actually practised a bit.....
Good Luck (Hao Yun) Hi there Dave,
Good luck with the half marathon tomorrow. Surprised you didnt volunteer to do it on your bicycle !
Best regards
Martin
Hi Dave,
It is always good to hear from you Dave.... it has been too long since I sent an update to you..
Just briefly I'm selling my house and will be moving into the city (Christie Walk in Sturt st.,) towards the end of June. It should be good considering I know most of the people who live in this eco-village.
Cheers,
Jane
Thanks As usual Dave, an informative and amusing tale. We anticipate your observations with relish. Really admire your fortitude at the farm..............
It's Fringe time here - I doubt the Garden of Unearthly Delights could compete with your Ball of Death.
Keep 'em coming.
Jackie
Only once Hi Jeff, sorry for the tardy reply, I only just discovered the comments! I only tried durian once & it was foul.... nearly as bad as baijiu...
The only way... Hi Tony, I only just discovered some comments people have made - & I thought no one read 'em! You'd love some of the craftsmanship too, I reckon you'd really appreciate it.
Smell of Durians Congrats on trying all those new foods! I remember once at a movie theatre in China someone brought some durian in - the aroma was strong enough to overpower the smell of popcorn! It's actually against the law in many places to bring a durian on board an airplane :)
An Australian living & teaching English in China, lost in translation for much of the time but seeing an old country in a whole, new world........ full info
