thanks for blog - great stuff - go well Great getting diving certificates - did K get his advanced? What a bonus whale shark swim! We follow your route on Nat Geog atlas. Food sounds marv. Tanning nicely? One week and we leave for Mauritius. Looks like Sardinia! Wish we were all together. Glad u saw match. Your pictures are fab. Keep to budget but enjoy this once in a lifetime experience. Seems like u are in paradise. We had a cold weekend for this part of the world - but today it dawned warm and sunny again. Worked in the garden all day for a change. Lots of pruning amd sorting out. Laid some new sprinklers to extend the garden at the bottom near the stone wall. The pool is sparkling blue and very inviting but is still too cold for a swim. This message just seems to go on forever! Niti and Gerald are in La Baule - they have been touring around after their stay at Annecy in the French Alps near to Mont Blanc - the highest mountain in Europe which is actually in Switz. Their long holiday ends this weekend coming. Had an email from Liz and Peter - they are travelling around and meeting a lot of old friends. Mom is sorting out her wardrobe to take to Port Louis - we will actually be staying at Le Maurice at Grand Baai in the northwest of the island where the race will start on Saturday Sept 10. We leave at 9am on Tuesday Sept 6 and return on Sunday Sept 11. Gosh! We never expected to ever go to Mauritius! Went to an Italian movie on Saturday and the final night of Jomba! contemporary dance festival at the Sneddon last nite. This week we are trying not to go to so much - but already the invites are pouring in! Lili - sorry u had an upset tum - glad u got it under control so quickly. Glad too u are using the suntan blockout! Tammy is still not properly over her bout of flu or whatever. She just cant shake it off. Brad is also still under the weather. Must close now and do some work. Will log on again tomorrow and keep u up to date!! All our love and prayers for your wellbeing. Dad and Mom xxx

love from sunny London! NOOOOTTTT Hello precious galavanters!
You guys remind me of that cute little dog with the red neck scarf - the littlest Hobo! I am SO relieved you are safe and getting into the swing of things so easily. Sorry we have taken so long to write - I dont check the home email all that often...so have sent it to work. Get more peace here than I do at home!!! Will try to figure out how to put my work address onto your mail system...keithy you know my IT capabilities, it could prove disasterous!
As you can imagine our lives are 'Ho...Hum' compared to yours...work, eat, sleep, gym to add a bit of spice...am sure you are both wishing you were back here hey!!! Still havent found another house, nothing compares to the one we lost - but will keep looking. This weekend is a public holiday - we were going away but had to cancel because michael has to work, so will probably have a relaxing weekend at home which will actually be a welcome break. Last weekend I was such a lucky girl, michael organsied for us to go to a Golf and Spa break as a surprise. I woke up on Saturday morning to him banging and crashing around in the kitchen...was about to yell for him to close the door when he came sauntering in with breakfast in bed and told me to pack! I was so excited, like the kiddies at xmas! It was so wonderful and he even booked me in for a facial...while he played golf! Wasnt sure whether that was a treat for me or to keep me occupied while he played golf, either way I was in heaven!!! Ha ha. It was a great treat - there was also a swimming pool and I got so burnt! Never been burnt by the english sun before. For my sins its been raining and holwing gales since...just incase you were feeling homesick, dont waste your time! Cant wait for the rugby this weekend, Keithy, do you want us to text you the score? We HAVE to win.
Enough babble about our news. We cant wait to hear the next entry, we are missing you both so much - I still cant believe you are so far away but so glad this has proved to be all your were dreaming of. Let us know how the final diving test went. Lots and lots of love and hugs to you both

Oh my god!! Wow, the place looks amazing! Hope you are thinking of me stuck in Churchill Court all day everyday, oh the fun. I hope you have a fab time, you look like you are enjoying yourselves but be careful!! Take care, looking forward to the next diary entry... Lou -x-
Your story of quitting job to travel for 7 months is amazing. I enjoy reading your blog but beg to differ that brushing your teeth with Bangkok tap water is absolutely OK.
Bangkok is quite cosmopolitan. Ignore the 10 million tourists visiting annually, still there are perhaps 50,000 Japanese plus 100,000 American, British and Europeans living here. I am sure all of them, like us Thais, brush their teeth daily with tap water.
For drinking, though bottled water gives 100% assurance that you will be safe, tasting tap water from time to time when necessary certainly will not kill.
I would suggest that you be more cautious with ice which can be contaminated during transport.
Have a pleasant stay in Thailand!
After 5 years of living in London my wife, Lisa, and I have finally decided to get away from it all and travel. We have resigned from our jobs and have the flat up for rent. This will be our first experience of backpacking but we are both very excited. We intend spending 7 months travelling to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the Philippines before heading home to South Africa for close on two months. I stumbled on the website when doing a Google search on Ko Tao and have been hooked ever since.... full info
