Those are not wood worms (Precious Palawan) They are actually mollusks living inside the dead mangrove trees, in their trunks or in their roots.
Kudos to you and your travels!

blog is the best What a brilliant piece of prose and picture - you make me feel like I want to there more than anywhere else in the world . . . can it be so pristine and as wonderful as it looks?! And so accessible if you live in Australia - where you are so fortunate to be . . . we miss Mosman and Balmoral Beach and the Great Kepple Island where we spent so much time with you two last year . . . Dad xxx
Little Era Next time you will have to take surf boards - there is a very good wave at Little Era. We too are always delighted by the many special wild unspoiled places so close to home in and around Sydney

trip to the islands Dear Keith and Lisa, Totally enjoyed reading about your trip to Palawan. Both of you will fare well wherever you go. You travel with open eyes and open minds.
Stalled boat... It's quite a dive story! Can't believe that the boat was stalled and that you had to swim all the way back. Glad you made it safe and sound. Your trip sounds amazing. Cheers,
Michel

Wow we want to go tooo! Hi there
We have been thinking of you and wondering how you are going, the stories and pictures have been awesome and we want to go too! All is well here. Jorja has a little "tooofie" - shark tooth - and Kyla still no sign of one. Kyla is almost sitting. they are both crawling all over the show. Jorja was sick last week with a virus, plus a tooth cutting and her usual vomitting - she had lost weight too with a high temperature - not a happy little champ. Took her to the Dr. and she is on an antiacid for the vomiting which has sorted it out so very few vomits now. She is much better and eating like a champ.
Michelle and Greg have just returned from their Antartica trip and had very bad weather the boat was on its side most of the time and falling out of bed was quite a common thing. They had one expedition on the ice and enjoyed it, but it was very cold and extreme conditions.
Where to next for you guys?
Barry is well and looks much better.
Take care.
Love

awesome k and l, so jealius of your trip, wow...you guys are looking fit and tanned. Since we came back from Xora, I haven't been able to show off my tan as it's rained non-stop in Jozi! The tummy is growing and am longing to wear my great summer clothes and show off the tan and the tum, will have to be patient. missed you both at Christmas and longing to see you in March, am counting the days.
Merry Xmas Just wanted to say hi to you both and thanks for the fab updates, it's amazing reading and seeing all you've been up to. Very jealous given that it's cold here and we're all hard at work. Anyway hope you both have a Merry Xmas and all the best for 2006. Keep the blogs coming! Margaret
Hey hey hey Hey you two, apologies for only adding a comment now. Sounds to me like you are having an amazing time, I am extremely jealous. And all the diving you have been doing - WOW!! Australia sounds and looks beautiful. Enjoy Melbourne and then Christmas in Sydney! And dont stop with these blogs, they are brilliant. Take care... Bruce
I am so envious of you two... you are having such a magical time. Enjoy every minute of it and can't wait to hear more about all your travels. Not sure if you got my last mail but Shaun and I are expecting little Curtin number two. 9 weeks pregnant already and as sick as a dog... feeling really grim. Anyway we are very excited and obviously hoping for a little girl this time, but will be grateful for whatever God blesses us with! Anyway enjoy your journey and have a fantastic time... All my love. Keri
globetrotters unlimited Hi you 2 globetrotters - seems nothing can keep u down - just keep rolling from one end of a continent to the other! Well, we have been busy ourselves with a 5-hour sail on the deep sea fishing boat of the commodore of the Royal Natal Yacht Club yesterday. He was officer in charge of the sailing of the Clipper fleet on its way to Fremantle. We in the media had VIP status for once! Back to your story - u2 r having such a wonderful time I doubt u will ever be the same again. Hey - that guy that wants to use your stuff in his travel book - make sure he acknowledges your stuff by name as well. Glad u r enjoying Oz and the ice cream - and the people - soon u will be in Sydney - dont forget to phone the Jordans in Melbourne. It may be a bit cramped there with all the kids - but see what they say anyway. Better I get this comment into the post - maybe there is a limit to what u can say! We r going to the Catalina tonite for the KZN Dance Awards - actually we have something on every nite this week! Unusual - huh? We tink of you every day and night and marvel at what you are doing - it is the dream of a lifetime comeing true fr you. Life will never be the same - I suppose you got the Bok score by now - France 26 Boks 20 - Boks were let down by a cold start - they seemed to be in some other planet for the first 10 minutes! And of course they gave away endless possession thru errors and sloppy play. Smit is in trouble for a tackle which resulted in a broken larynx (ever heard of that be4) to the French captain. He has been cited and will know his fate 2morrow. All for now - Dad xxx
Time for ........a haircut , Keith! Almost didnt recognise you!.........and Lisa, eat some more ice cream for me..skip the bubblegum flavour, oh, and the wasabi flavour!!
After 5 years of living in London my wife, Lisa, and I have finally decided to get away from it all and travel. We have resigned from our jobs and have the flat up for rent. This will be our first experience of backpacking but we are both very excited. We intend spending 7 months travelling to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the Philippines before heading home to South Africa for close on two months. I stumbled on the website when doing a Google search on Ko Tao and have been hooked ever since.... full info
