As we age we realize how important it is to go to those places we've been and truly enjoy. You've still got time for the bucket list but I'll bet you've been to most of your have to's. Udaipur!
Mike, you sure have developed a close bond with India, I can sense from your readings. I been to Udaipur once, and I concur everything you said about the place...it looks like history written in every nook and corner of the city. While riding a cab to Ahmadabad, I still remember some lonely camels on the desert like terrain in the twilight...a picture perfect moment. All comes back to mind while reading your blog. Thank you. Waiting to hear about your adopted family in India.

That was 7 years ago...
...but Kerala, and the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary in particular, are still vivid memories. If you're at all interested in birdlife, the Salim Ali Sanctuary is a 'must' during any visit to Kerala - in much the same way as Keoladeo (Bharatpur) is if you go to Rajasthan in the north. Read about the latter in my blog from 2013 entitled 'A Birder Paradise in Rajasthan?' (https://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Rajasthan/Keoladeo-National-Park/blog-777525.html). India is a great place to visit for birds and other wildlife, culture, history, people, religions... It has it all!

There's no secret!
Any camera will do - you just need a fast shutter speed. Fast reactions help too - these geese were already making a run for it! If it helps, I used a 100-300mm telephoto lens at 300mm, 1/3200sec, f/5.6, ISO-400 for this shot. Keep smiling!

It's a small world...
...I haven't yet met any TravelBloggers (other than the Grey Haired Nomads - but relatives don't count!), but who knows...? On my flight from London to Delhi last month, I sat next to a young man who had just moved to a neighbouring town (where I used to work) from a town a long distance away (where I lived for 21 years) and who had uncles who lived within a few houses of the one in which I was born! It really is a small world
