I stumbled upon this site and reading through the blogs..very interesting! I live in Nairobi. The Swahili word for 'come here' is 'kuja' not 'couja'. :)

It's all happening....
Felt out of breathe just reading it !! Hectic times rushing from one beach to another and then days of idyll (or is that idle). Sounds like it's all going swimmingly. Love, Dad xx

reply to, i think eilis...?
i cant see who left the comment, but im guessing eilis from the content!? appently all giraffes are like that, but im going back there ion my next trip, so i will let you know when i have fed another one! there are quite a lot of flower farms near me, in Kajiado district, and they do mostly run parallel to a tarmaced road - im quite lucky - most of my journey to school is along the main road between the kenya-tanzania border and there are only parts where it is tarmaced! i keep looking for the flowers at the farms, but i can never see any... xxx

nairobi national park
You lucky girl, I am sooooooo jealous!!!! The only thing I don't understand is why you think 7.15 is so early, by safari standards that should be about coffee time. Look forward to reading your next installment. Lots of love Mum xx

Grandma came over on Sunday & looked thro' all the blogs, etc. She has set aside a week in June as she reckons it'll take that long to see all the photo's & video you will have taken - she sends her love as do we all. Dad

it sounds like you are having just the perfect time. what you doing going on safari though arent you doing that again later :P are giraffes tongues all rough? i have had cows lick my hand before and they feel like sandpaper. i was watching a program about kenya the other day so i was looking out for some interesting facts for you but it was mainly about farming. they have some pretty impressive flower farms i have to say oh and the flower farm has a tarmacced road outside! the only one i saw in like the whole program. love you xxxx

hello! apparently there is another wedding in february that we might get to go to, but that is near mombasa, so we would be in for a 9 hour drive... wildlife spotting is not great! saw some zebras, but other than that nothing! it really nice to be able to talk to you all. the power cuts seem to be pretty regular. this week we had one on saturday, one on sunday (apparently they occur most sundays) and one on monday. they last for a few hours and when it gtes dark we all get out torches out and use an oil lamp! im looking forward to getting my parcel! xxx

havent seen too many animas - saw some zebra coming back from Nakuru but that has been it. there are hundreds of stray cats and dogs here, but im guessing you dont mean those kind of animals!! there are cockroaches and some small spiders, but other than that not too many, although i cant stand the cockroaches - they creep me out!

Some boufant that !
2 hrs 35mins to do her hair - was her name Rapunzel? Very kind of David & Priscilla to take you tho'; experience more culture. I 'drove' the route from your homestay to Nakuru on Google Earth to get an idea of the sights, some of which must be stunning in true life. How's the wildlife spotting going otherwise (I don't mean the bars either). I had 3 deer cut accross my path this morning near Westerfield but not quite the same somehow. I was kind of pleased that you ran out of battery on Sunday as Mum had just drawn enough breath for a second 30 minute stint. Only kidding of course, it was great to chatter away like that wasn't it? Are the power cuts a regular thing? (You don't have to answer any of these, I'm just babbling.) It was obvious from your voice that you are having a great time and enjoying the teaching so keep it up and watch out for the parcel of goodies! Luv Dad

Have you seen any other animals lurking about !!! What about insects and creepy crawlies ?? We've now got rid of all the snow but they talk of more to come hopefully it will be further north. Take care lots of love Aunty Margaret, Uncle Rodger xx
