congrats I odn;t know you nor do you me. I was looking for train schedules and came across your trip report. Congrats to the both of you for sharing such a long trip together. You really find out who you are and your mate is on trips like those.
God bless you both on many safe adventures.
WOW! I can't believe that your trip has come to an end but that is the way of life, I guess. Sounds like your time in Turkey was exceptional! Dad was just saying yesterday that he would like to do a trip similar to yours sometime. What's wrong with this picture? You guys are 24 and we are 54 . . . a little reversal, perhaps? Anyway, glad that you have had such a wonderful journey and thank you so much for sharing your adventures with all of us. Love you lots and lots.

WOW What a blog! Sounds like you two are ready to come back to good old North America. What an experience this trip has been and you papa bear and I have reallly enjoyed hearing about your escapades! Did I hear that they have snakes in the caves in Turkey?
xoxoxoxoxox
I am soo excited to hear about Turkey and that you are going to Cappedocia (sp?) I loved it there. I guess you are not going to Croatia? Kat right now you are missing ANTM and Survivor...hurry home peeps! xox Jaqs
I love Guts PS I am totally with you on the Bull fight Josh. Ya blood and guts! bwahahahaha ( evil laugh)! Kat and Elisa, sorry to offend your sensibilities but that would have been awesome to see! Ya carnage!
Now if it had been a dog fight, no way, totally gross and wrong. ha!
Ya B!tches! What is up kidlets!? I am loving the pics. I have been in those exact sports and am so pumped that you managed to get to the Moorish castle. I swear it is right out of Robin Hood! Right where that castle was in Belem,by the Chris Columbos monument, is one of the most western parts of Europe! Did you see the big Jesus? Can't really miss him! just got back from hanging with Farmer Fro aka Elisa in TO. We had a rockin time and even managed to get lost downtown and ended up having tea in the rainbow area of town. Keep sending the updates! I love you guys and cannot wait for you to head back to cowtown. I am loving it!
Buenos Dias! Loved your commentary about Spain! I remember how beautiful I thought it was. And I remember going to the Correa de Toro (Bullfight ring) on the Cinco de Mayo (BIG HOLIDAY in Spain) and seeing the beautiful yellow ground with precise red lines. It was such a sight. Too bad they had to go screw it up by goring the bulls for the crowd's pleasure. I guess I am just not into that kind of cultural thing (as it apprears my lovely daughter is not!). Glad you are having fun and also glad to hear that you are looking at the younger generation through more mature eyes! I noticed that Josh didn't comment on the short tight skirts! I love you both lots and look forward to your next blog!

whats up guys, sounds like you are having a blast. I love the Laforet anger gene coming out on the dude in Portugal Josh it is not your fault for getting pissed off at the guy, it' your fathers. dude deffinitly go nude on the beach you aint going to get many chances to do that in a life time. it will be a good memory... for you not anyone else. just busting your balls dude. much love heading your way love Justin
Ya make me smile So funny...its like you two have become your own reality show with fans and stuff. I am so glad you guys loved Amsterdam. It has a huge place in my heart I have gone twice plus I am half Dutch...I too loved the Van Gogh museum. Anne's house the canals etc..I am glad we are on the same page!! I am so there in spirit through all your travels. peace xox Jaqs
Oh la la You sound like you are having a great time. We loved Paris too. I loved Michelangelos scullptures at the Louvre. Did you only spend a day in Paris? One of my favorite memories is boating down the Siene (sp) River at night. Did you do that? I wish we were there. I can't wait to go again.
vah gogh eh? hi chicklets, i have really enjoyed your travelblog, great sense of humour and it sure looks like you're having a blast.
Dont forget to visit Mona and David (The big Marble michaelangelo at the Louvre for me, also the Musee Dorsee is the BEST museul of the bunch. Remember Montmartre and Sacrecour, Josh would love the views from there, the Champs eleysee is the best people watching place ever, shopping in Rue do Rivoli (beside Louvre) is the best to look anyways if you are on a budget. take the train to the Grande Arch in La Defense at the end of the Champs, the grand arch is one of the most interesting buildings in the world. above all have fun, love you lots

Smelly? Hi Josh and Kat,
It is so neat that you have set up this blog thing! You are making me "homesick" for Ireland!1 I loved it there; it was my favorite trip in all the tim Reg and I travelled. The people are so down to earth and friendly.
I had to laugh when you complained about smelly people, etc.; It is only going to get better or worse, whichever way you look at it. Oh well, you get used to it somewhat, and it is a small price to pay for the experience.
Take care and keep having fun!
Barb
Lad and lassie I think thats how you spell it/ You two sure look cute in those pictures thanks for sending them along. We are both happy that your having a great time and truly experiencing the culture. We want to know how the sheep stomach was ...Kat were proud of you knowing you could hardly stomach chinatown in Van!!! Mom told me about the women in Amsterdam in the store front windows selling their wares....Keep a close eye on Jpsh Kat >Its been raining here for 3 days and cold .hope its nice weather for you both. Love you Mom and Dad Laforet
Nice scarf Helloo kidlets, I reach out to you from my hamster wheel in corporate canada. Stay there as long as you can. being a big kid is freaking exhausting! ya freedom! As I look at your pictures and read your blogs I am sadly looking at what you are wearing to see if we packed the right stuff. Yes I am lame. Hope you feel prepped. Remember that it is always a bit chilly and damp in the UKespecially scotland. I do not know how they managed to only wear kilts all year long with no undies. Talk about shrinkage! ha! Keep up the reports. Miss you lots! Julz
So glad to hear from you little leprechans! It sounds like you are having such a wonderful time! And I am so glad that you could download pictures! You both look so happy and relaxed. I remember when we were in England (When you were just a wee lass) that the history overwhelmed me and I began to truly appreciate what history was all about seeing the buildings, etc first hand. I am sure that you will remember this trip forever! Keep safe and keep your travel blogs coming. They are SO WONDERFUL!
Yeah Pictures Thank you so much for sending pictures!! I actually had a moment at my computer looking at them. I guess it made it real for me all of a sudden. (silent sob).
Kat I'm very rpoud of you for drinking the guiness, not sure if I could get down a pint. And I totally know what you mean about the nasty beer smell. It's unlike anthing I've ever smelled before and oh joyus I get to smell it all the time. Yeah!
Anyhoo, I talked to Julz last night and she has AMAZING news. Not sure if you talked to her, so I won't spoil it for her just in case she hasn't told you yet.
Love you, miss you and I'm not sure if this posting thing is working cuz I can't seem to find my last post but who knows!
Elisa
the verdict on the warm beer... ...is that it is kinda like having that last sip of your initally cold beer throughout your entire beer drinking experience...Josh is informing me that an ale is 'meant to be drunk warm'...well just call me an uncultured swine and give me a nice COLD brew!...and much thanks for the wee Braveheart excerpt...
Guess who's coming to Europe Just talked with Joan yesterday and Greg and Andre are taking a 6 week trip (via Eurail) through Europe. Sounds like your visits through Spain and Portugal could overlap on the calendar. So if you are traveling there and you see someone who looks remarkably like Greg, it probably is. Just to give you the head up. Small world! Love you both LOTS and LOTS.

Thinking of you! Hi guys. Well I'm so glad that you arrived safe and it seems as though everything is going wonderful. I think about you both often and I'm definitely living vicariously (sp?) through you. I'm loving hearing about all you adventures, especially sitting at my desk, agh! Warm beer?? What's up with that? That's one trend that I don't think will catch on here. Can you just imagine me in a meeting one day..."ok guys so I have this brilliant new idea, I think we should take Lakeport in a totally new direction....warm beer, that's right, no more fridges, no more clean, refreshing taste." Lets just say I wouldn't have a job any more.
Well I miss you both tons and think of you often. Kat - I gave my friend Kelly your email address so don't me shocked if you get a little email from her. I'm not sure if you are going to cross paths but who knows.
Can't wait to hear of your next adventures.
All my love,
Elisa
continuation from my previous message They said that whatever you do, do NOT take the bus in Croatia. They said it is AWFUL. Long rides, many stops, too many people, HOT HOT HOT, now windows and no airconditioning. They said to take the ferry! And also Dubrovnik is a MUST SEE! Food for thought. Love you both lots!
xoxoxox
Kafrin, you know me too well! Loved both of your accounts of England and Scotland. I smiled so big that I am surprised you couldn't feel it when i read the part about Portabello Road. I was singing the song before I read your line "Mom I know that you are singing it"! Such fun. Be safe and enjoy each minute!!!! P.S. Hiked with Devora and Mick McAuley today. They said, whateve you do, when you get to Croatia, DON'T
He stood seven feet tall and blew fire balls out his ars! Just thought I'd add a little Braveheart excerpt for the experience. WOW sounds like you guys are having a great time together; all the sights and ahem..smells. What is it like to have warm beer? Gross or good? Or is it one of those only in Scottland?
I can't lie seeing Patrick would of been cool, and all the broadway! wow.
It seems so funny to think that Canada is truly a baby in comparison to well...the world.
Love the Blog's!!
Love Always
