Johnny speaks' Guestbook

It looks like you made it to Jerash...
based upon your profile picture. Of course I could be wrong given the large number of sites with Greek columns; but I can't think of many others in Jordan. I'm looking forward to reading your blogs about the rest of your time in the Middle East.

Thanks Bob and Linda!
Actually my profile photo was taken in downtown Amman at the Roman Amphitheater! but i'm hoping to make it to Jerash before I leave! Thanks again for the comment

I love this girl!
Cake in the face....what a great birthday. Sounds like you are having a grand time. You certainly are eating a lot of great food. They must eat small portions otherwise they would be bigger. Keep the info coming. I'd like to hear a bit more about your classes. How is it going? Happy Birthday.

What an experience and education
I'm glad you are getting the local experience. It sounds like your studies are going well. Gosh, the food looks fabulous. I hope Laila's mother has taught her all the family recipes. Try to find a way to go to Wadi Rum!

Glad to hear that you listen to Dave and Merry Jo...
they will be visiting with us on their way to Ohio and then around the world. It sounds like you are enjoying yourself in Jordan with such wonderful people. You sure study many places.

Assalamu alaykum
Congratulations on your first conversation with a local in Arabic! It is exciting to communicate even on a basic level using that beautiful language. Looks as if you are having a wonderful time in Jordan - keep smiling!

Thanks Shane
It definitely was! I was happy that my studies paid off and I was able to understand and reply. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Shane!

Yeah! Finally another blog
It is good when Johnny speaks. I'm glad it is going well with Laila's family. I know you are going to learn a lot while you are there and will become fluent quickly. Laila was practicing driving? Is this a new skill for her? I am so excited to follow along on this adventure. Please, please, please go to Wadi Rum. It is one of the travel camel's favorite places. You must read his blogs. [blogger=11053] I am currently reading a book he has recommended called From the Holy Mountain by William Dalrymple. Full of historical information, politics and religion. Can't wait for the next installment of your blog. Have fun. Please safe and send our best to Laila.

Thank you!
Yes, the driving age in Jordan is 18 and since Laila turned 18 last August, she has been in the US and couldn't take classes until this summer. She passed her test and got her license today!! :) I will definitely try to go to Wadi Rum! The only problem is I suffered a pretty bad spinal injury in March and don't know how I would be on a camel or walking/trekking that much. I've read a lot of the Travel Camel's blogs! I follow him here and have enjoyed his blogs on the Middle East Thanks so much for the continued support! I'll keep the blogs coming!

Just a little correction
AC/DC is an Australian not an American band. I'm an Australian travel blogger in Bogota, Colombia at the moment & couldn't let younger away with that faux pas!

That's something I didn't know
Thanks for the info, I actually didn't know that. I guess they were such a big part of my teen years and seeing as they were signed to an American record label, I thought they were also American. thanks again!
