Hi everyone, A new chapter of our journeys, we have made it to Oz. However it did take a while. We set off from Queenstown and headed to Christchurch. We picked up and dropped a few people on the way but eventually we got to Christchurch at about 4pm. Our flight was not till 6am the next morning and we decided not to stay anywhere, maybe hanging around in Christchurch even though there was still a lot of devastation in the center. However, we thought we would take a chance and see if we could get a earlier flight, so instead we got dropped off at the airport. We were lucky and there were spaces on a earlier flight, BUT it was going to cost $900 for us to change flights, so that idea went out ... read more

Hi Everyone, Our biggest adventure came next when we arrived in Taupo. This is one of the places to do a sky dive. Our names were down and there was no backing out. Everyone who wanted to do it on our bus was doing it so at least we got to do it with friends. When we got to the centre we were shown a video of what it looked like. i dont think it was a good idea as it scared more people. We eventually got suited up and went up in the plane. We flew to 1500 ft and went for it. just like everyone else had said, it was amazing. that gave us a rush for the rest of the day and we celebrated in the evening with everyone. we had 2 days ... read more

Hi Everyone, It has now been about a week in NZ so we have lots of stories to tell. We landed in Auckland and had one night before we set off on the kiwi experience. We headed off to the Bay of Islands at 7:30am with a longish drive ahead of us. We had decided on the bus that we would do the eco adventure boat tour, which allowed us to drive out into the bay and swim with dolphins. We didn't have much time when we arrived so set off straight away on the boat. We weere warned that as these animals were wild that we may not be ableto see or swim with them, however, we got to see them and a big group at that. It took a while but eventually we found ... read more

Hi everyone We arrived bright and early in Singapore, we got to our hotel at about 8am so we had plenty of time before check-in. We decided to attempt to use the bus for the first time. We soon found the route and waited for the bus, once the bus had turned up the driver didn't really understand where we wanted to go, plus we did't have any small change so got on the bus for free, result. Once in the main city area we located the hop-on-hop-off bus tour and set-off for a very hot bus ride around the city. Our first stop was the Singapore Flyer, like the London Eye but bigger. From here we got to see parts of the grand prix track, Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Shopping Centre, more on that ... read more

Asia » Malaysia » Wilayah Persekutuan » Kuala Lumpur » Bukit Bintang February 26th 2012

hi, Having left colder Vietnam, we hit a stormy Kuala Lumpur. Our first impression was excellent, with a guard greeting us and suggesting a cab would be the cheapest way into the city. However, this was after waiting an hour to have our passports checked as they only had one person on our line, when there was 4 on another line. After half an hour they realised their stupidity. We got to our guest house and headed out to the city. We had discovered our friend Simon from uni was also in KL so we tried to meet up with him. Unfortunelty he doesn't take his phone out with him at night but gave us a number of friends he had met. Unfortunetly Simon did not go to the correct bar but we still managed to ... read more

Hi, Sorry were a bit slow with the blog, been up to lots. We made it to Vietnam and the weather did not get better. Our first activity was a 3 day junk boat tour of halong bay. It was only a 2 hr bus drive to the harbour where we boarded our boat. It holds about 16 people and the rooms were very spacious with a good sized ensuite. We were provided with all our meals and a variety of activities. They first took us to a cave which was much more exciting than it sounds. Then we kayaked around the cave and part of halong bay. We had a lovely dinner where we made friends with a Aus couple so got tips from them, and finished with some karaoke. The next day some of ... read more

Hi Everyone, Harder than we thought to get internet in Mumbai, hense the latepost. Obviously we made it to Mumbai, and have just arrived in Hanoi, very tired I may add. We made it safely to Mumbai, even survived the crazy cab ride to the hotel. Unfortunetly we were unable to book a train ticket to the Taj Mahal for when we needed it, and with our experience of Mumbai so far we were not going to risk getting stuck somewhere. However, things worked out and we spent the rest of our days in Mumbai seeing the elephant caves, lost of museums, galleries, shopping, world heritage sites etc. We booked a private tour guide and a car, so we got to see lots. It was about 28 degrees but with a nice breeze so bareable. Unfortunetly ... read more
