Nothing exciting yet. After being in an airport for 11 hours and on a plane for 8-9 hours we arrived and went through customs in Sao Paulo. We were going to just wait around and ride the metro until our check in time for our next flight, but decided instead to check in right away. To our surprise TAM provided us with a free hotel as well as two free meals while we waited. So we are getting a little rest. It is a good thing too, because I was starting to look like a zombie with dark circles under my very red eyes. It is a little strange how comfortable I am in my surroundings here. If I were in a city like this in the states I would be alot more nervous than I am here. Everyone is so friendly though. I was thinking about it last night and the hostel we are in has only one thin mattress no air conditioning, a fan and a light bulb. This is pretty luxury around here, perhaps like a middle class lifestyle. Where I live back home, we don't use electricity and live preft thrifty and people often ask, "How can you do that? That would kill me!" Down here though we are staying in a hostel with much less than that and it is above the common lifestyle. People are happy. People walk the streets in large crowds.
