There are five foreign teachers here this year, and we all live at the end of a global village of sorts. There is a couple from Topeka (who have promised to give me the recipe for brown bread ice cream) who live across the hall, a couple from New Zealand (Darwin, where, I am told, it is too hot to wear ties to work, so instead it is customary to put on a pair of tall socks) and Nick, a guy from Maryland (who secretly wishes he lived in Kansas). Things are fairly posh. I have a living room, my own bathroom, kitchen, and big 'ol bed.
