Just me Really cool report. Nice picture of Rose and the girls. Just a word of advice: If you come upon a place called Bates Motel operated by a peculiar man, keep driving.
Loves ya,
Charlie
Love From The Neighbors It is so wonderful to have neighbors like you!! We thank you so much. We haven't posted much but know that we're doing great. We're so far behind now, it's almost overwhelming. We've finally hit some really nice weather so won't complain. We saw the Milwaukee weather this morning and pray everyone stays safe. Glad Thanksgiving was great for you and yours. Getting rid of the weekly post is just fine for us. We're not tracking to be home for another 8-10 days - hopefully the bad weather there will clear by then! Thanks for the update.
Love back..
Rita and Jerry
Love From The Neighbors Jerry and Rita,
Stay away as long as you can. Today it is cold, snowing, windy, blustery, dark, grey and yucky outside. Enjoy your warm weather to the max.
All is well on the home front. No mail or papers in your box - except for a big fat yellow phone book that I took up to the porch, and the weekly "Post" that comes free. I have been just tossing them - hope that's ok - as they will be way out of date by the time you get home.
We had a great thanksgiving - most of the family here - and a fun day of being together.
Miss you - hope you're having a wonderful time.
Love,
Jan (& Carl)
Inscription Rock Hi Vickie!! Wish we could do a better job of keeping up on posting this trip but oh well. That's just the way it goes. We didn't see anything for Inscription Rock so I looked it up since we're in Albuquerque now...We did see the postings for El Morro National Monument (same thing) but since it was a 42 mile side trip which would require another 42 miles back, we did not take that one. We're having enough trouble with time with just the things in route. Wish we could see everything but even when you have time like we do right now, there's just not enough time!!!
We'll be in touch on the return trip. We'll keep trying to get to posting more.
Rita
Makes perfect sense Glad to hear you had a safe trip Jan. Hope your cold gets better soon. Illinois has a lot to see relative to Route 66. We spent a lot more time in Illinois than we had expected but it was great. Our biggest dilemma is taking enough time to get pictures done and post. Oh well. Take care!
Love back.
Rita and Jerry
And they're off... OK...we've been anixously waiting the first posting and once again you've outdone yourself. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't been to and didn't know some of these sites existed in Illinois. Can't wait to see more and look forward to your visit on the return trip! Be safe! Love, Bryan and Vickie P.S. If you have time look up a place called Inscription Rock just west of Albuquerque. Very cool place!
End of e-mail Hi Jerry and Rita,
I just sent you a note a few minutes ago - and accidentally hit a key which sent it off to you before I was finished. So am just signing on again - to say "good bye" - and have a great trip.
Hope that makes sense. Love, Jan
Happy Times Monday, Nov. 17
Hi Jerry and Rita. So glad to hear from you and get an update on where you are. And now reading of your travels, I find out you are in the "backyard" of where I spent my childhood. I grew up in Morris, Illinois - and lived there until age 18 when I went off to college - so have many fond memories of Illinois - and the places you mentioned.
We got home from Orlando on Saturday (15) - after a wonderful 12 days down south in the warm weather. Picked up a cold on Saturday - possibly from the enclosed air on the airplane - but who knows????
Thanks Vickie Thanks for your compliments and support of our trip reporting. It is especially appreciated since you are the best scrap-book maker I know. I have a much greater appreciation for how much time you put into that now. Consequently, I think our downtime (non-travel time) will stay more routine - outside of this blogging. We'll be in touch via email. Thanks again and you guys take care. We're not sure when yet but we will be down to see you all.
Here's the Deal... Your blog is my reading material at work (er I mean on my breaks...)Even when you're done with this trip you have to keep writing and taking pictures of anywhere, anything - you guys going to the grocery, taking the dog for a walk, etc., etc. Another great entry guys!
Pretty Darned Nice! Once again, you've outdone yourself Rita with "telling the story" along the way. It's so fun to read and look at all of your pictures. Did you make it to Bear Country USA? We were there a little over 20 years ago! Heck, we were out there before Crazy Horse or Deadwood had gambling! Can't wait to see more. Take care...Vickie
Wish List Here's our wish list for your vacation - 1) Find a town named Kelly, take a picture and send it to her. Randy would do if you can't find Kelly. 2) Picture of Jerry in the Sugar Daddy shorts at Yellowstone - oops - what happens in Mexico didn't stay in Mexico 3) Keep posting - we love readin' them. Love, Vickie
Check You Guys Out Man, I love to read these, takes me back. Good for you guys, keep it up....damn sure you are not missing anything important here! Well wishes and bless you both - drive on!
WOW this is really great Thanks for the link! I'm tickled to be "joining" ya'll's adventure before this day clicks off into the chaos. What a refreshing start. Naturally I'm pea-green with envy looking at all the wilderness pictures, opps, that wasn't wilderness, that was Jerry in the morning... Thanks again for the ride. CR
Thinkinf Of you Jerry and Rita,
It is great fun reading about your meanderings and hearing what a wonderful, relaxing time the two of you are having. We continue to pray for safe travel for you and good health to enjoy each and every day. Sounds like those prayers are being answered. All is well on the homefront. Even though we miss you - stay away as long as you can and just enjoy. Love, Carl and Jan
Outstanding! Wow you guys...what beautiful scenery. I look forward to your posts. It's kind of like hitching a ride along. Bryan says hello and wishes he was there (maybe you don't but he does ha, ha). Have fun!
Love,
Vickie
Adventure Day 2 Well, folks, I'm just finding my way around this blog. I see I should have probably commented on the long drive through ND on this site - as this is where you are today. I'll catch on - eventually:-) Hugs, Jan
Ahh...life does not always follow the plan. We are a happily married couple for 21 years. We had many plans for retirement. But alas, many health issues have crept into Jerry's life. Thanks to Rita's great company with very supportive colleagues, her request for a six month personal leave of absence was granted. We are now retired, albeit 'only' for six months. We will need to continue to deal with Jerry's health issues as we proceed - a new one just added the last two months - but with doctors' blessings for now, we are embarking to fulfill as much of "Jerry's Bucket List"... full info

Welcome
What?
Yeah - but that's how we know it really wasn't you...If it was, it would have been Awesome Charlie's!! :) Love back. Rita
