5th September 2007 My house is awash with lists. Things to do, to buy, to plan, to organise, to research, to delegate - so that I can go round the world for seven months, and leave the house running efficiently, or at least not be flooded, burned, burgled or demolished when I return. I researched health issues until I frightened myself, and decided to be guided by my GP instead, although in the long discussion about anti- malaria pills she didn’t mention that the island of Lombok in Indonesia has mosquitoes that carry a strain of malaria resistant to all but the most expensive prophylactics.
