In communism time-in former Yugoslavia-religion was free, anybody could go to church, we celebrate Christmas etc. Only in public Schools religion of any kind was not thought.
I always look forward to reading about your annual vacations... some TBers write about an extended trip and we never hear from them again. So reading blogs by those who faithfully return year after year is great to see.
Happy belated Birthday! Hi Jen!
Glad to read your blog again. E-mail me: perlanatalia@hotmail.com I am getting married in December and thinking to honeymoon in Switzerland!!!
Hugs,
Perla
Thank you for so many great stories and pictures. It never ceases to amaze me what an avid traveler you have become. This trip has been especially interesting and exciting for me because of our family history. How wonderful to think you visited places where my grandparents and your great-grandparents were born and spent part of their lives. Pictures were wonderful!
Dembica I am so glad you were able to visit the place where my grandfather and your great-grandfather was born. I am sure many things have changed since 1897 but I am sure he would have been very happy that you made that trip.
Thank you
Hi Jenn Love the art work!
How are those insect bites coming on?
They just sprayed my town for West Nile Virus carrying mosquitos - yes Winthrop!!
it is great to follow your travels!
hope for good lodgings? Hey, I love to hear what you're up to! I love that between churches and castles and memorials you also work in material about snacks.
try this: airbnb.com sounds awesome. was in NYT yesterday and I looked at it and it looks like it has some primo possibilities. Try looking up a couple of your upcoming destinations!
Love,
Beth
hi Jen, You are clearly one of the best travel-addicted people I've ever known, much moreso than me (we met in Arrica, Chile, 2006). Is there anyplace you haven't been yet? I went to Tonga for 1st time last Dec, and hope to return to Bali (3rd time) this year. Wishing you good travels and empty hostels. Steve
Travels Jennifer,
Michele Hane told me about your travel blog, and I have to say that (1) I'm impressed by all this; and (2) I'm jealous! This looks like a fantastic time...safe travels. I'll be getting back in touch with you later about making a trip of my own.

your travels Hi Jenn - this was one of Zacc's favorite parts of Europe and now I can see why. Keep traveling and blogging so the rest of us can live vicariously :) Guessing you and Jeroen are excited about Netherlands in the World Cup. We are hoping Germany beats Spain today. Our dream final is Netherlands v Germany; we won't care who wins. We like both those teams.
Pobrecita! Aww your poor little arm is all red and swollen! I get bitten by mosquitoes anywhere I go, the only thing that helps is rubbing alcohol and let time take care of it. Anyhow, I am taking a class called "history of math." The professor lectured about Euler, a very important mathematician born in Basel. He solved the "Basel problem" and I immediately thought about you. It is such privilege to be a teacher in such an imporant city for the world of education! I hope you are doing wonderful besides the bites; i see your boyfriend is very handsome. Good to read your blog. Take care!
Sounds eventful to say the least! I am always amazed at your solo travel skills! I've been hanging with my Italian netbook since November and love it...I hope yours works out well.
