Me and Emily are finally escaping from dreary England and a life of servitude to sunny sunny South East Asia. Only 4 more months on this cold, little island and then 6-7 months having fun, learning, relaxing, eating, exploring, drinking, swimming, pointing, singing, sleeping, dancing and laughing. Sounds right up our street. I intend to fully document the whole trip from a photographic point of view. Hopefully my writing and photographic skills will develop and mature much like a fine cheese. We begin and end in Bangkok and rest is up to us...

Soooooo we are in Bangkok, Thailand. It feels so good to be back. Everything keeps reminding me of my previous visits, things I had totally forgotten like the the crazy and fearless motorcycle taxis and the guards with their whistles and light sabers. However unlike previous trips I will be trying a more hands on approach. I think I was a bit too young to take it all in and appreciate it before. For example the first time I came (in living memory) with my older brother I didn't eat any Thai food at all. Just pizza and crap like that. The second trip I came with my Mum and my younger brother. 5 weeks + 5 days. Quite a short amount of time considering we still have Christmas to contend with. Snow is on the ground here and it's -3°C outside compared to the 34°C in Bangkok! So our loose plan? We are going to start in Thailand then move through Laos on the slow boat and then into Vietnam taking the bus from the north all the way down the country to the south and then escaping into Cambodia before hitting Thailand again for rest and recuperation. After which we then will go south and see the sights of Malaysia and Indonesia. Loose as it gets? Well maybe.
