5 weeks + 5 days. Quite a short amount of time considering we still have Christmas to contend with. Snow is on the ground here and it's -3°C outside compared to the 34°C in Bangkok!

So our loose plan?

We are going to start in Thailand then move through Laos on the slow boat and then into Vietnam taking the bus from the north all the way down the country to the south and then escaping into Cambodia before hitting Thailand again for rest and recuperation. After which we then will go south and see the sights of Malaysia and Indonesia.

Loose as it gets? Well maybe. Each and every one of us should all be aware that this itinerary is subject to change without prior notice.

Why are we doing this?

We want to see the world. Become more independent. Eat lovely food. Speak foreign languages. Meet new people. See the sights and smell the smells. Experience different cultures. Climb every mountain and ford every stream.

And Emily wants to get a tan and I'm going to grow a beard.
