You would think they had learned At least you now know all the ways of being mugged! Southampton should be a doddle.
A settled (boring) year at Uni? I don't think that will happen now....
Hi! Am loving the photos, especially the underwater ones with the maneating fish (last blog). Am not surprised about the number of people you know out there, its a graduate magnet! New Zealand should be different though, and get stuck into the kiwi wines they are all awesome. They do great sauvignons and pinot noirs because of the cool climate... blah blah blah....! see you guys soon...ish and enjoy the sennybridge pretender! x
if i write something will you update the blog? prince william and kate middleton have split up
i have my first exam tomorrow
life is very tragic and traumatising
xx
top bananas hey hey hey, you're the best vegetable I ever met, eat this sausage! go on, go on, go on, eat this burger. Do you have your phone heloise? I sent u a msg, i was feely particularly lubbly jubbly at the time. I'm at work, very jealous, remember when we used to eat sandwiches and watch bollywood dancing together in our lunchbreaks, before you sold out. Maybe I'm still pissed.
genius! Best blog entry yet ladies. (That comment was meant to sound more Cambodian, but it doesn't look right coming from someone who speaks english, it looks too polite and posh instead doesn't it?)
I have to admit, if I ever encountered someone in SE Asia saying "Top banana" at me, I might keel over from a fit of laughter, so well done on surviving that one. Did you pick up any of the language? I expect you to have at least picked up the phrase "I am a fish." Purely from a selfish perspective really, as it'll extend my knowledge of how to use this great phrase to three different languages (in addition to French and, er, English).
I have to wonder how "Elbub" is more pronouncable than "Laura" though, that is superb. These people are an untapped comedy source I swear, there should be sitcoms written or something. "The Cambodians" - it'd be like The Simpsons, only more sexist.
Have fun in Oz!!! I've heard Darwin is mighty warm, so I'm very jealous (I write this as New Cross is in the midst of a blizzard... well, not actually a blizzard, more of a mild snow, y'know, but I wanted to sound dramatic). Have a great time!!!!
Olly xx
PS: apologies for the twaddle again.
Ahoy! Hey Laura! Just had a good read of your blog, very entertaining! It has temporarily distracted me from my finals and the cold, soulless 1960s towerblock that is Edinburgh University Library, so thank you. Sounds like you're having a great time, and I hope you continue to do so. Enjoy the rest of your travels!
Angkor What? Hey guys,
Sorry for being generally rubbish at posting!
Looks like you are having a fantastic time, those pics really do show the countries and your reactions to them as I'm imagining. Can sympathise with the long long long bus/ donkey cart journeys, though the average crammed full of people and kit otc minibus journey to wales was only about 3 hours! Am certainly jealous of the nappy trousers, (you should have kept them!) and the Indiana Jones environment! I imagine words can still not do your experiences justice!
Have a great last stint in Cambodia/ Thailand and I'm looking forward to your next blog.
Good Luck!
Sam
Total Tropical Soton! Tis almost hot today in Southampton am actually wearing shorts and T-shirt! If you squint U might even think your in Thailand if you turn the lamposts into palm trees! Has been beautiful weather since Saturday which was perfect for the SUCV residential in Dorset! Was lots of fun and exhausting. Have AGM 2night so will no longer be treasurer as of handover on Thurs :+( Hope your both enjoying the beech and the beautiful water, done any snorkelling?

As for wierdos I reckon they make a holiday to be honest, well it must pass the time on the long bus journeys! Proud of the cycling efforts. Am off to Dorset for conservation this weekend so will send an email sometime next week. Your Blog brightened up what was another boring evening.

Dong?! Is this really the currency? I don't know how you haven't managed to not laugh yourselves to death if so... The last time someone asked me to pay them in dong... well lets not go there.
Great to hear your enjoying yourselves and although it is concerning to hear that Heloise has a bizarre knack of attracting utter weirdos, the thought of you guys acting as snakes and guinea pigs absolutely makes it better again.
Ooh and heloise I got your facebook note... why are you talking about me, you vixens!! x x x
humph. It looked like regular fanta... No we didnt cycle back (duh - after the suffering we went through to get there - im only cycling on flat from now on!) The good news was that we scremed at the man who rented us the bike and got a full refund...we were livid though. I'm sure we risked our lives on that thing. and the siolly little man at the shop said that it was broken because we'd ridden it too hard?!! IT'S A MOUNTAIN BIKE - a. thats what they're for, and b. look at me - do you think I look like an extreme bike rider?!
anyway, it's all soon over Steffy, and then you're coming on holiday!! yay!!!!!
Lots of love, Lolo xxxxxxxxx
PS: glad Ben and Jerry kept you company. Laura and I had a romantic dinner...
HAHA you two are so funny!! so, did you cycle back? you know, that bike sounds like it has much the same problems as mine... people here in oxford stare and laugh at me too!
lolo, what possessed you to buy a bubblegum flavoured drink? surely it was obvious it wouldn't be nice!!
CAN'T WAIT to join you! (life here not amazing..! unsurprisingly)
xx
hey emily! i'm glad to see you're enjoying the blog but i feel very stongly that you should not be doing this in your IT lessons Emily, it is a shocker! but... actually IT is boring so yeah, ignore my last comment. you can always tell your tutor that you're enhancing your cultural awareness... laura xxx

Having booked our tickets back in August, we got far too excited far too soon and felt ready to go by September. Hoorah - 5 months later, and we finally can! German lesbian boots - check, khaki explorer shirt - check. Basically all the important stuff is packed so bring it on!
For the first leg the plan is: wander around Thailand, then skip along into Laos, chill our way down through Vietnam and across Cambodia. We then fly from Bangkok to Darwin where we discover our inner crocodile wrestlers, followed by the typical trip down the east coast (cue Jack). Then we're going to NZ. At this po... full info
