happy new year! Sounds like another world entirely but well worth seeing. Such an interesting culture and fantastic architecture. Loving your comments! Take care and all the best for 2006!
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...! Absolutely wicked! love the pics - they're great. Montreal got record snow falls this year and it looks like Europe will have its share too. The UK and Holland are being dealt a nice pile of the fluffy stuff and I'm loving it! Enjoy and be careful with the snowball fights!
my [half-]ukrainian heritage has been insulted !! unless i'm mistaken
(and i rarely am)
'babooshkas' are hats, though
your caption suggests that the ladies ( babas ?! )
*were* babooshkas?
anyhow, you'll face my kossak wrath!
Like the snow Hey there - thanks for the photos - I love the snow. i'm in montreal right now and we were lucky enough to get tons of glistening white show without the usual -30C temperature! very nice. and yes i would much rather have my job that the "Babushkas" in the snow. So true. Enjoy your time in Russia!
Merry Christmas from the Linigers Merry Christmas, Jason, from Marisa and Rob. Thanks for including us in your blog mailings. It's been quite fun experiencing your trip while toiling away in my office! We just returned home from a Christmas with the southern Cailfornia Del Vicario's and everyone sends their regards. Continue to have a safe and fun journey, and I look forward to reading future blogs. - Rob
holy ice storm!! Did we get the repeated sends as a side effect of frost bitten fingertips? Keep warm squire, this is where the Dr. Zhivago portion of your trip starts. Don't miss vancouver too much, it's just kinda wet. Take care, St. petersberg is way hi up on my list...
so close to my neck of the woods..... Nas drovia JJ!! (means good health and cheers!) Or Dhy bhoja! Be sure you feast on some real pedehj (perogies) and some fine hulopchky (cabbage rolls). My Baba and Gido would be so proud!! Now this is a place I would like to visit! So glad to hear you are well JJ! Your pics are amazing! Merry Christmas my friend! Lots of love....T.
Merry Christmas Merry Christmas to you Jason. We are so enjoying your trip right along with you! I keep reminding everyone here today of the Russian saying that only fools drink without food but they keep drinking anyway!Oh well, we are about to eat a huge Christmas feast that will soak up all the alcohol for sure!
We hope you did end up having yourself "a merry little Christmas" celebration of some sort. We know you'll be missing your family whom you always speak so highly of. Looking forward to your next entry.
All the best to you in 2006.
Vanessa, Denis and T.J.
Thanks for letting me share your adventure Merry Christmas, Jason. I'm loving this--look forward to every new post you do as you wend your way from city to city and country to country. Great pictures - I especially like that you put yourself and the people you meet in your pics (not just the cityscapes). It sure looks cold though! Stay warm, stay safe. Have a great New Year!
St. Petersburg Wow, taking in shows at the Hermitage and making friends with the Ruskies...how cool is that. If you are turning blue with cold I am sitting here in the Vancouver rain turning green with envy! Looks like fun. Ever since i watched "The Bourne Supremecy" I've wanted to go to St. Petersburg, btw. Merry X-mas and Happy New Year.
wow Your travelblogs are so interesting. You look and sound like you are haveing a trip of your lifetime. Good memories.... Merry Xmas to you and your friends.
your mumma loves your photography. Now that you are in "somewhere completely new" we would strongly encourage you to try to remit your commentary on a more regular basis. I am finding myself searching the blog site on a daily basis and being disappointed on the days that its blank and positively jolted and thrilled when there is a new addition.
Please give us a perspective on the cultural activities that you are attending. Great work j
Alright, fair enough =) Mercy! You know, we're hibernating! But, to make up for the dark times, we shine with the Sun the whole the summer ;) You better believe me, otherwise you have no choise but to see it for yourself =) Merry Christmas!
I'm having a ball... reading your travel blog and enjoying your pictures and enthusiasm!! Keep it up! It's my birthday today, so I'm enjoying my vicarious visit to Sweden with you. I'm drinking a Sambucca in your honour. "Cheers! and down the hatch!"
What happend in Helsinki We are here in Amica with Gramps, and he is wondering what happend to the Helsinki blog and he is also wondering how St. Petersburg is treating you? Hows the weather
ciao for now
Love Angie, Gramps, and Bex
Wow, rich people DO have all the fun. Couldn't one theoretically just buy a LonelyPlanet and sit at home?
Oh no, wait. This is effectively what blogging is, is it not?
Love, love, love
I am a 29 year old financial advisor from Vancouver, Canada. The thought of being in -30C weather in southern Siberia excites me so I'm going to check it out. I endeavour to share some of the more colourful experiences with family, friends & clients. I will attempt to NOT be an annoying traveller posting loads of pointless stories but rather will try to update this once from every place I've visited. I also anticipate being able to share lots of photos... a photo is worth a 1000 words so 'they' say. Cheers.... full info
