"Dad" Joe said I needed to see your photos great photo shots. Joe was really excited to show me what you have been doing I think he would like to be there too! Travelling is such a great experience. I've seen his trip photos with Esther to Guatamala (warm) and now yours in Russia (cold) that lake freezing was amazing. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Cheers!
Oh my gosh... how I laughed when I read about the friendly train attendant! =) It seems your journey has been a success...excellent! PS: Don't worry about Crime and Punishment - I'm seriously doubting that no one has ever been able to read it through..
Magnifique Tes photos sont magnifiques et represente surement bien ton trip. Nous sommes passe te voir le 11 mais la porte etait fermee. La prochaine fois au canada peut etre. Stephane et Max
Up BEFORE sunrise! Thanks for two more amazing blogs. Super photos! Does the lake usually freeze in early Jan. or was it waiting for your arrival?! You will have to have a photo exhibition somewhere.. Have you heard of ascaris from eating under-cooked pork and other wild animals found in very cold climates? Happy travels and keep safe. Love Mum and Dad
Awesome photos j. We are shivering looking at them. It is quite beautiful. The food looks like Siberia's version of Pupnat. Was it as good? We will enjoy a very mild winter wonderland this w/e in whistler. Sending lots of love
WOW!!!!!!!! Hello my friend! You are well I trust, as the steady stream of gorgeous photos demonstrates just that, for I know you are in your element..surrounded by that heavenly white stuff . You should become a tour guide of some sort, for your entries are fascinating to say the least. Beautiful, beautiful is all I can say. Enjoy every moment JJ. As always, I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing more. Take care Jason. T
siberia? Hey Jason!
I only just now figured out what this travel blog was... what teh fak are you doing in Siberia?? Ya it looks beautiful... I am in Hawaii and the weather here is lookin a lot more pleasant if I do say so myself. But hey! Have a great trip!!!! and hopefully I will see you on the lake again this summer in beautiful BC..
unbelievable! Who would have thought it could be so stunning! So is it snow hut instead of beach hut for you? You're right, the pictures are absolutely stunning and unlike anything I could have imagined myself...enjoy the winter wonderland!
Wow! Dear Jason, Beautiful photos of the Siberian countryside! We have been following your blog for the past month--and we are now assuming you Canadians must get more than two weeks off a year. We are so jealous! Keep the fabulous pictures and comments coming our way. We look forward to seeing you back in the Pacific time zone!!
any lost paesanos? Nonno wants to know if you have come across any Italian-speaking "Russians" so far in your Siberian travels. He maintains that after WWII none of the Italian prisoners of war ever made it back home..including at least 5 of his friends from the little town of Panni and his brother-in-law.
keep safe and happy adventures, looking forward to your next blog
Skateboarding bear training I like the skateboarding bear. You should learn their secrets and train wild bears in whistler. They could skate in the Whistler skatepark.
Happy 2006 Sounds like you are having a great time inspite of the ice, vodka, dogs and line ups. I told your dad that I thought he was a big meanie for finally sending you to Siberia.
What an adventure We are safe and warm here (raining of course) and you look like you are having the adventure of a lifetime. Have fun and stay safe and keep sending your diary (the photos are great) at least the rest of us can live vicariously through you. By the way, I think I mentioned that Russia would be cold this time of the year -the only capital city that is colder is - you guessed it - Ottawa. The junior team is doing well, they play in the semifinals tonight and the Canucks on a losing streak - so I hope you get wish for a goalie for them in 2006.
Irkutsk-3 Vancouver-1 Finland, Sweden, and Russia? Did you go to any hockey games yet? I bet the Irkutsk Voddys could beat the Canucks. Hope you're having fun!
I am a 29 year old financial advisor from Vancouver, Canada. The thought of being in -30C weather in southern Siberia excites me so I'm going to check it out. I endeavour to share some of the more colourful experiences with family, friends & clients. I will attempt to NOT be an annoying traveller posting loads of pointless stories but rather will try to update this once from every place I've visited. I also anticipate being able to share lots of photos... a photo is worth a 1000 words so 'they' say. Cheers.... full info
