"Why not?" Love the question! Dear Jessi, your life in China sounds so interesting. Glad you are making friends and making the most of your time there. Am sure they love you. One night I dreamed I lost my purse in China...talk about a needle in a haystack! Gramps is well and taking good care of Teddy and me. My latest stunt was to break my hip...surgery was Jan. 2. For old fogies, healing is slow. It will be great if Pam and David can visit while you're there. Exciting that the customs and language are making sense to you. Stay well, and thanks for the vicarious thrills and armchair travelogues. Love, Gma Linda and Gramps

interesting idea food is very important. And Chinese food is just fabulous. In recent years, the food market in China is a bit confusing, the endless variety of scandals. For the next generation of food can not guarantee the quality and safety, then it can not expect more.
Thank you very much for sharing that I can use in my research the idea.

Your Travel Blog This morning I went up the Hill in front of my appartment in Baden and found a sign in front of me which said Gustav Perger Weg. When looking into the internet for Gustav Perger, I found your blog. So, could you tell me something about this man and what brought you to Baden. With my best regards
Klaus Moll
Band Director Say hello to Mr. Wiske for me. I was thinking of him in rehearsals today. There's a bit where the character, who is a painter, is imitating conductors in general and he was instructed to pose at the end like a famous maestro. I suggested that he hold the paintbrush (baton) up to his temple or poke his throat like Wiske used to. I thought it was funny, but no one else got the joke.
Best Seller Jessi:
Your "travel/confessional" ramblings are more entertaining than the top five books on the N.Y. best sellers list. Keep the good musings coming.
Love, Grampa Bill
Caught Up So, since I'm spending my two days off with ice on an inexplicably bruised and swollen ankle, I decided to catch up on your blog-ness.
So, I'm totally jealous, mostly because I miss having a dog to talk at. haha. But it seems like you're having a wonderful time, and the family seems great too. I think I would absolutely love Lea... those tips were a riot.
Also, I SO WANT some knodel. I actually have a recipe from my uncle (the one in Vienna), but he uses apricots in his. You should ask them about topfenpalatschinken, one of my other favs... But that could just be because I was totally obsessed with topfen when I was there.
Enjoy the upcoming trips if I don't talk to you before!
Just to throw a spanner in the works, have you considered doing your graduate and/or doctorate degrees outside the US? I'd suggest you come visit me if the train passes would make it here, but I'm still living with friends at the moment, and don't know when I'm going to have my own place again. Switzerland all the way baby!
Fluff You can most certainly get it out west. Every time I go home a bring back a large stock for my friend Ellen who is addicted to the stuff. It's difficult to find it here and if you do it's really expensive. She loves it because she is a vegetarian and can't eat normal marshmallows.
you call this a job?! Jessi, just kidding, but it sounds like this family is treating you very well. The photos of Grace and her parents , opa, and nanny are precious. Congratulations to all! Is your apt. in the house?...very nice! Hot, hot here, so enjoy the Vienna Woods. My friend, Patsy, is escaping to Switzerland the end of this month. Very sad about Edwards feet of clay...in the beginning, he was my 1st choice because of his war on poverty. Now, Obamanos!! Enjoy...Love, the Gramps
