Thanks for sharing your trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. What a trip - photos are great and especially enjoyed the extra information about cooking, schools, crafts, etc. We had 14 to Thanksgiving here in California - hope to see you here soon!

comparison with Thailand Looks like Cambodia is a poorer and richer in monuments place than Thailand. Certain photos look just like Thailand and Burma and others do not. It must be a very enriching experience to get a look at the local work of NGO's which comes closer to the true picture of what's going on. Please continue your rich journal of experiences. Leila, the kids and I are thinking about going to some of these places so this is most interesting for me.

Angkor Wat As always, great photos. Questions: Were there a lot of other tourists at Angkor Wat? (doesn't look like it was crowded?) Are there many sustainable hotels like yours? Is Cambodia developing and advertising ecological tourism?

rendezvous hilary, aline wrote and said that you have been able to meet her there and that she was so happy to have done so ... wonderful! ... i think that you both have so much in common with your loving and generous hearts ... have a fantastic time! w/much love
bon voyage I was there in January 1969 - 3 months pregnant with Pamela - there the was only one hotel in Angkhor and Pnom Penh I remember as a lovely colonial city. About 6 weeks after we left, all hell broke loose and things were never the same again. I hear things are picking up though...
beautiful photos! The palaces are gorgeous and the juxtaposition with the view BEHIND your hotel says a lot -- appreciate your "eye" for capturing the essence of a place and the telling detail....

Do you think you could also space out a bit more your text. It's made of big chunks that don't always make it easy to read...? Biz
I'm starting a new blog on my trip to Cambodia, November 16-30, 2008. Look at the first entry to see the program of the trip arranged by "Voyager Autrement".... full info
