Well the last few days we've been pretty busy! The weather on saturday got quite warm so we headed up to North Vancouver to the Capilano Suspensio Bridge, only a 20 minute bus journey from where we were in Downtown, it's a wooden bridge in one of the parks, surrounded by rainforset which rises 450 feet above the river Capilano (so pretty high, and also swings with the more people who get on it!) and then theres the cliff walk which is a small walkway hanging on to the cliff about the same hight as the bridge. It ended up being a really good day out and well worth the visit! Yesterday (sunday) we pretty much chilled out for most of the day as the Vancouver Sun Run Marathon was on so everything seemed to shut ... read more

Day 3 - The Weather was a bit overcast this morning so we decided to do something indoors and the aquarium seemed like a good idea, now I'm not the biggest fan of fish or aquariums so I wasn't too excited but hey I knew grant wanted to go, and i have to say it was really really cool and nothing like the ones we have back home. It was massive had all sorts of weird fish and even an Amazon forest with monkeys, Parrots and a sloth.I have to say It was really good we saw dolphins and baby dolphins (too cute) , Otter's, sea lions and even a sea turtle but my favorite was the beluga whale's which are amazing we watched a beluga show and their such weird animals they almost glow their ... read more

Well our first couple of days in Downtown Vancouver have been knackering to say the least! Neither of us seem to have been able to shake off the jet-lag...but that still hasn't stoped us exploring Downtown and the surrounding areas! Vancouver has definately lived up to our expectations from what we had heard before we got here, with the friendly people and amazing views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. Both days we've been up pretty early because of the time difference, which means we've been out nice and early finding out what vancouver has to see.....we've found out there is so much to do here, and it can get pretty expensive if you're not too careful, but so far the moneys been well spent!....we visited Granville Island yesterday with the indoor markets and other local ... read more

I can't believe we've actually done it!! Final preparations were made on Monday of packing bags and saying our goodbyes to family and friends, and then began a long sleepless night (i think we only slept around an hour at the most just from the excitement of leaving!) before the taxi came to pick us up at around 5am on Tuesday morning. The flight itself was ok, we flew with Air Transat, a non stop flight so in the end the flight took around 9 1/5 hours, long i know! but we got to Vancouver eventually at around 11:30 am and then began the longest wait I've ever had going through border control. With around 200 people waiting in line and only one desk open it took us an hour just to get past the first ... read more
