I'm going there Hi! I'm going there in a week or so. How cold was it? Is a winter coat needed or just layers? And I've heard the glacier is flat. Will standard running shoes be okay for this trip? Thank you!
I'm going there Hi Anushree, from what I can remember it was quite warm when the sun was out and so only a shirt was needed, but it got very cold after the sun set. There was no snow until almost at the top of the mountain. The glacier was a bit further down and was like a block of ice and we were able to walk along the side of it (it did not block the path to the top of the mountain). I wore sandals as that was all I had with me on the trip. It would be better with running shoes or something stronger than sandals.
Gary & Denise's journey of India Shame man can only see other countries' poverty - having lived in India, England, Canada, USA, Spain and Taiwan - and I mean 'lived' not vacationing in these countries.
I have found more poverty in England than in India. What you experienced in India is a corrupt governement - this government has still to learn the Western government way to cover their corruptness.
Quoting: "Yes, Calcutta is a filthy city - her filth is EXTERIOR - and can be washed off with soap and water - BUT - the Western countires' flith is INTERIOR - and no amount of soap and water will ever wash off their inner filth.

Trams in Kolkata Yes, Kolkata maybe the only city in India to have trams AT PRESENT! Mumbai also had trams once upon a time, double-decker trams too, but these were discarded because they were causing too many traffic disruptions.
Hey! Hey! what's up! I have to say that I actually met this beautiful lake, and you know what, the view is just, AMAZING, when you are going on the way to that place (Solola) that image is really breathtaking, you don't find the words to express that beauty, if you don't believe me, just visit it. But you can be sure that Atitlan's lake is the most beautiful lake in the world.
Yes! The most beautiful lake in the world: ATITLAN'S LAKE
Please check the lakes of Pakistan...They are more beautiful or not... Just Write in Google or check the link.

paradise on earth I too have visited Auchlochan from Manchester on many occasions over the years visiting family who lived there, I have stayed on the barge on several occasions and had great fun with the swans knocking on the window for food. unfortunately the barge is not rented out any more.
I have bought flowers and plants from the gardens which were beautiful and still exist years later in my garden.
I have also stayed at Nessenvale within the grounds and been treated as one of the family, or should I say (royalty)the staff @ service is excellent!
I have stayed in most of the surrounding B & BS and also Kerse farm at the roundabout in Lesmahagow and have been made very welcome and enjoyed every one of them.
The golf club has been a good place to visit for an evening meal where the staff are brilliant, if what you want is not on the menu the staff will try to accommodate your choice.
However as I have watched Auchlochan grow and expand over the years I feel that it has a special place in my heart, it is stunning, I will be going back to see relations before end of March when the snow clears, cant wait.
MHA - Auchlochan Retirement Village Please note - Auchlochan Retirement Village is a MHA = Methodis Homes for the Aged, not run by or residence for 'Christian Bretheren'
Yes, I do agree, it is Heaven's vestibule.
saif ul muluk lake saif ul muluk in naran pakistan is beautiful but lake dodipatsar (Pakistan)is even more beautiful...i havent seen all the lakes in the world

Lake Saiful Mulook - No comparison Spend a full moon night or a lovely dawn. There is no place that can match the scenic beauty of this magical lake. The water is more than crystal clear fed by mountain glaciers. The lake is accessible through May to September and is frozen during winters.
lake saiful malook in pakistan lake saif ul malook in pakistan is infact the worlds most beautiful lake.it is said that in moon light nights mab lands over its water
