Thank you, Georgelondon, for sharing this fascinating trip. Warm and dry, I've experienced Guy Fawkes torches, a walk past the surprisingly unpretentious McCartney home, Remembrance Day, and hot chestnuts, just to name a few of the adventu
res. Even got to see the Hound's head. I appreciate this blog.

It's a great trip especially the longer one which brings you all the way down to the London Tower bridge. What is really important is that the kayaks go east with an outgoing tide and head back when the tide heads west a few hours later. Th
e company provides splash proof clothing as you can see, and will cancel a trip if too much sewage is being discharged into the river (eg, after a rain storm).

would you recommend this kayak trip?

The food pictures were disgusting. That's the greasiest food I've seen since my last cheap Las Vegas buffet.

You have question marked the word velodrome. Yes, this is the velodrome where installation of a 100% naturally ventilated system eliminated the need for air conditioning. I wonder how they did that.

Indian YMCA, indeed. How do you find these great places? I just read about their restaurant and found that not that many people know you can eat there without staying at their residence.

Have you been to any pubs? I don't know what they charge for food, but I hear that some pubs have very good food. Consider going. I think you might have an interesting experience.

Way to go, George! So glad you were able to get into the final round and see the awarding of the championship medals. How exciting!

George, thanks for this picture. When I was in Vermont, I saw a whitewater kayaking contest on a river. Viewers like myself lined the banks of the river to watch. It is so interesting to me to see a man made whitewater course.

It must be really nice to see all of this for real, to be able to touch it. Some day I will be able to touch this and not just dream of it.

I'm really liking the clothing fashion for these cheerleaders.

Kristi - I think that the torso is the only valid target.

Thanks for the fencing pics. I took a series of fencing classes when I lived in Boston, so this sport holds an interest to me.
