Hi everyone A couple of days have passed and we have now left London picking up our hire car and are on our way through the countryside on our journey. London was fantastic but so hectic it was good to get going when we did as we were both feeling exhausted! Our first stop is near Bath at a lovely B&B called Priory Cottage, just beautiful and we are being very well look after by the owners. On the way here we stopped at Stonehenge, just one of those places that you just have to see in your life even though at first look it's just some big stones on the side of the highway! Happy Birthday Michelle Wow what can I say about having a birthday in London, what great day we had. Started on our Big Bus tour up on the open top seeing the sights of London, going through streets you have all heard of and seeing the historic monuments, over Tower Bridge, tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, getting off at Harrods. Unbelievable, Harrods was that and much more, we had a very special seafood lunch in the food hall then bought some prosciutto and English cheeses, aged Red Leicester, Blue Stilton and Cheddar (to have later). Oh and just as we came out of Harrods to get back on the bus we located a Pandora shop!! We went in and Ged bought me a lovely macramé bracelet with a charm, what a great birthday. The time has come, we are in the Qantas club in Canberra having our first couple of beers/ wine & the flight to Sydney is just about to board & our belly's are jittery hoping all the connections run smoothly! Well it's been a while since the last post, so much so that we now only have 2 & half weeks to go and we are really getting excited! So what's been happening, well work mostly, but as it's been so busy the time has just flown by so we will be 'flying' out before we know it. Most things have been booked now and we are just trying to tie up a few loose ends. Of course I have been doing a small bit of clothes shopping to get a few things to go away with where Ged doesn't think he needs to! 10 weeks seems like a long time to wait for the start of our trip to the UK & Santorini but I'm sure it will just fly by! It's been over 25 years since I last lived in England and I can't wait to see where I used to live when we get to Blackpool and catch up with Katherine & Bryan.
