Lovely Pics Thanks for Presents What lovely places you are staying at! This contrasts well with present Britiish weather which is cold and rainy. We got soaked last night and sat through a production of Brian's latest play about Connie Francis. Not our cuppa tea! Thanks for the prsents and card which I appreciate very much. Lots of Love L&M N&G xxxx
There's a mouse in my bed.... I just love this! Seriously, I think you ought to be serialising this somewhere. Not so sure about the mouse in George's bed though....
All sounds fun! Hi Ruby, we have been looking at pictures of the Golden Pagoda and the slums in Mumbai. We thought the Pagoda looked wonderful and the slums looked terrible. We are following where you are on the map. I found that you are 6 hours ahead of us. I've started Rainbows and made a bouncy ball. I'm missing you x
Captain's Log, Star Date 4.3.12 Really enjoyed reading about the noisy but very colourful festival and particularly enjoyed the photos of the elephant. Your four perpectives are really giving me a flavor of India. Would love to see more of George's drawings in future posts and please keep noting your culinary adventures George. Ruby's straightforward and honest reportage is very refreshing!
Family contributions Love the four entries and four perspectives - brilliant idea! Hope the kids (and you) will manage to keep it up as time goes by. Enjoy the rest of India and looking forward to next impressions :-)
Indian Travels HI you 4 we are glad you are having a good time and all is going well. We look forward to the next chapter in your wonderful journey.
We love the illustrations especially George's mouse!
Lots of Love Len and marion xxxx
Just hello Glad to see you are all well and having a wonderful adventure. The sun is shining in Torquay today so good luck with your travels. PS Hugh says thankyou for his boxing gloves...... popped his friend Jacobs nose with them!!
Love Annabelle
Hurrah! I'm very sorry I meant to post a comment after the first post, no excuses I've just been rubbish
It certainly looks like you're settling in the swing of things, all glam in your shades. I especially enjoyed the bits about the sleeper, when we made those interminable three day train journeys to Spain when I was Ruby's age we used to have the same arguments about the top bunk, so nothing changes it seems.
Once we had to share a single compartment with another family from Morocco because there had been a mix-up in the booking so we slept in shifts and spent a lot of time sitting on suitcases in the corridor. And the next day they whipped out a stove and cooked a rabbit, right there in the compartment. I hated those journeys at the time but looking back now they were amazing experiences during a time when Spain was a very different country than it is now.
I was so accustomed to the journey that mum and dad let me do it by myself when I was only 16. During that trip I met the only completely illiterate person I've ever met, a Spanish refugee from Franco making the journey back to see family after the dictator's death. I filled in his customs declaration for him and he actually signed his name with a cross, if I'd not seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it.
It that the platform at Mumbai station they dance on at the end? The temple sounds amazing - I wonder if you know that for a long time, Stockwell Bus Garage had the longest unsupported concrete arch in the world? And yes, I know I need to get out more.
I love the picture of the restaurant, was that by George? Most evocative and more than something of the Peter Blake about the perspective trickery, I look forward to more, hurrah!

Free at last! Good job getting out of town! We just left the Maldives; revolution NOT our fault, but truly too bad.
Yes. You are not on vacation. This is real life.

well done and good luck! Hi All - lovely reading all your notes on your new blog and it sounds as though the trip has got off to a great start! Keep well and looking forward to hearing more - a way of 'virtual' travelling for us as no chance to go somewhere so exotic and so lovely to hear from you. Never replied to a blog so not sure how it works, but wanted to say we are thinking of you. Love Eva and Alan xx
Great First Entry! Dear All
Really enjoyed your first entry & photos - particularly the pieces by George & Ruby! Have forwarded the entry to those other great explorers Sandy & Marilyn.
All the best

Hammocks and beer o'clock Not envious at all..... much! Glad it's all started so well: must be magic to actually be there after all the planning and anticipation. Love to you all from all of us here: take care, and will look forward to the next installment.
P.S. Al - Good use of the water to keep the groin area cool: I can see you're a tropical old hand already.
Lovely to know you are all safe We are glad you arrived safely in Mumbai and are chilled. Read all your blogs and found them very interesting - especially George's in that strange language! Looking forward to more communications in the future.
Lots of love L & M xxxx
