Traveller's Tum, Budget & Poem Dear All
Hope you're all feeling better, I'm really amazed you haven't got traveller's tummy until now so you must be doing very well following the old 'elf & safety guidelines for tummies... very impressive re. following your budget! Loved the poem Ruby, please write some more when the inspiration takes you!
All the best
Fiona.
Hurrah! I'm very pleased to see that George is also saying "Hurrah!" now, I will mention it to Fiona next time I see her. I love your picture too, I think you have a real talent George. And Ruby, thank you so much for my card, it's going to go into a frame and on my study wall to be enjoyed Forever. My colleague Satheesh is from Kerala and he thought it was lovely too. It was on my desk for a couple of weeks but has now returned home, ready to be framed this weekend when I organise the study pictures. I'm going to group all our favourite pictures together, and crowd them on a wall together. If it works I'm going to sell the idea to Facebook.
We bumble along here, the slugs have somehow made it to the 4th floor and are consuming my beloved hostas. I look forward to next instalment, George xxxx
Tummy trouble Sorry to hear about the tummy trouble sounds like poor George got the worst of it. Otherwise sounds like you are having a fantastic time. You'll also have all your memories from the blog to look back at and remind yourselves of your great adventure. We had a fab time in Jordon, camel rides, camping in desert, floating in dead sea and visiting awesome Petra. Sadly our trip was only a week not 6 months. Love to all. Kim
A Message To You - Ruby Hi Ruby, how are you? It sounds fantastic. I really wish I could go on an elephant ride. That looked really fun. What was he scarf like that you bought? Did you go higher than the clouds in he balloon? What could you see from up there?
It has been a long time since you have been gone and it sounds like you have had loads of adventures. I am missing playing with you. Since you have been gone, I have joined Rainbows. When you get picked up from school you get a few biscuits and there's a snack time. I have done my promise which is "I promise that I will do my best to love my god and be kind and helpful" It is quite hard to keep the promise but I've got a new Rainbow's uniform. Today we went to get Ozzy trimmed but the hairdressers said they wouldn't be able to cut his fur because it was too knotty. So they told us to go to the Vets but we didn't listen to their advice. We went to Pink Paws and the lady said that we need to brush him differently but first we need to wait til it's warmer and then we need to shave him completely bald!!! We are all a bit sad for Ozzy.
We made some delicious lemon drizzle cake today and we've painted the shed. I chose the colour and it's called 'Harry's Deckchair' We all think it's a really good colour and it suits the garden.
Please e-mail me soon. Lots of love from Sylvie
Reply & comments What busy people you are. We are glad Al had a good sleep on the boat but sad George got the Delhi Belly. It wont last long! Ho Chi Min reminds us of the Lenin and Georgi Dimitrov tombs. Its great to hear all your happenings and it islike as if we had been there too! Of course there is no substitute for the real thing. Happy Easter to you all and keep safe
Hi all Wow! Looks like you're having a great time. Alex, is that a beard I see. All you need now is a pith helmet! I like the comparison to Apocalypse Now. Must have been very atmospheric. Let's hope things don't end up in the same sticky mess. I'd avoid cattle!
Glad
Looks brilliant and more relaxing than India (from here anyway...). Smiles all over give the impression that all four of you are really into the 'trip' you're having :-)
Let go of the luxury guilt! If I could go along the Mekong again I would definitely want to be able to lie down according to my whim on a nice comfy bed. Especially if there was cold beer. Your trip has brought back a lot of memories.
And poor Ruby with the hot spring feet situation. What a shock for her (and Alex).
Hi Carla, Alex, George and Ruby
You all seem to be having a great time and we are envious of the places you have been. The mekong river sounds good. Looking forward to the next blog.
lots of love,
Len & Marion (Nanny & Grandpop)
Hello what a wonderful time your are having. Its great to read about the countries you are visiting and what memories Ruby and George will have! Have a great time love Annabelle
mmmm - think I'll have nutella for breakfast too this morning - thanks for the idea Ruby! (Perhaps Alex could lay a trail of it round the less child-friendly temples...)
armchair traveller Am absolutely loving your blog - particularly with the story being told by each of you. I hope you manage to keep it up - you have a loyal band of followers!
Enjoy Thailand...
Trisha :) x
Loving the blog... Just discovered the link at my other email address and think the trip and the blog look fantastic! Still jealous...but inspired. Enjoy and take care...and keep them coming xxx
I loved George's opening statement "Mum books First Class", no nonsense there, I'm certainly with you on that one Carla! Sounds like you had a lucky escape from the dubious "Paper Factory" aka Cult... and Jet Airways makes Ryan Air sound like a reputable business! Looking forward your next installment!
Buddha That is one impressive golden statue. Hope you, George and Ruby are feeling better. loving the drawings George. Ruby what a stylish hair clip. Hope you don not get caught in the rain. x
Ashram I recently worked with a Pole (from Poland) he was a temporary worker in the exam invigilator role. We got into a heated discussion about Ashram and their power. He was trying to convert those who definitely did not want anything to do with his views into believing in their ways. I took your view some confidence!
But we all need guidance at some time in our lives!! Sounds like your guide Alex is taking his turn well ! So could one sit down in first class? I must get back to reading the second half... bye for now
Thailand way hey What an interesting journey so far. We were sorry to hear about the air flight fiasco. But Bankok seems a haven of peace after Mumbai. Enjoy it. Nice piccies.
We hope Ruby gets better soon.
lots of love

WOW! Hi All, I loved reading your blog. Such fun and interest. Look forward to reading an reading more. I was on a hen day yesterday...afternoon tea in Mayfair. The sun was beating down, it was like summer. Clocks went forward today so taking time to wake up on this slow Sunday. 25th March. Love the new outfit Ruby. And George looking forward to more art work. Keep up with that homework!!
You get elephants: I get the elephant and castle Which one is better? (Harry Hill would be able to sort it out but really there's no competition.) We are very much enjoying your blog. Very happy to see G and R are taking to travelling and noting very interesting things along the way! Ruby looks lovely in her Indian dress. I also like those pictures of cold beer for some reason. Di x
Wonderful Photos & Cartoon Strips I'm really getting a flavor of India from your wonderful photos - very atmospheric and capturing the moment... Am also loving G & R's cartoon strips of the trip - great fun & very clever! G & R please keep up the commentary about meals and the size and calibre of the swimming pools - 9 year old Alexander says these are of the upmost importance!
Your images & descriptions of all your train journeys are sending me back to O Level English Lit. & A Passage to India!! I don't suppose Alec Guiness and Peggy Ashcroft have made an appearance as yet...
George's Pictures Big fan of George's pictures - especially the restaurant view. I like the descriptions of the noise of the temple celebrations as well - very evocative.
