What a wonderful time you have had! You and the kids will have so many memories to take back home with you. I'm sure George will fit in at the next school just fine and perhaps going to a new school will help him more than returning to the old one - its another new adventure! Then again someone might leave the area and forget to inform the school and yes that does happen rather a lot ...... So where is so and so then? I heard from the kid that lives down the same street that the removals van has been after the parents had spent the summer screaming at each other!
Have fun and see you all soon

Nearly Way Back Home Wow doesn't it all have an Englishy seaside feel there. Could be an English coastline. We were disappointed that you didn't walk the whole of the AT!! At least you didn't come across bears. Enjoy the last dying moments of your tour with NY to come.

New York State of Mind and other entries Hi have been catching up with your adventures. Wow! Loved the videoclip at Niagra Falls the noise is amazing. Mikes aunt lived in Burlington until fairly recently and we went to visit there many moons ago now. Can't believe you went to 'The Little House on the Prairie' loved the books and the T.V. show. You have done so many wonderful things so exciting to read.
So sorry to hear about the fire on the RV scary stuff but thank goodness you all got out in one piece. And you got yourselves back on track after.Well done!!!
Love to you all.

Finger Lakes I love the bits of east coast US that I've been to, and it was good to hear about Finger Lakes etc, which I'd been thinking about as a holiday destination at some point... Looks really beautiful.
Wow! Them falls look pretty scary!! Well what a wonderful piece of video footage of the falls. They reallly look amazing. Glad you had a good birthday Carla and picked up our electronic card. I expect you are now edging your way to Saha and David's place. Give our love to them.

Leaving Cowboy country fpr softee east The lakes seem awsome to use that over the top American expression. We were glad you found cooler climes. We could do with a bit more heat here so can we exchange some cool for some sun! The 'lympics are going well and we are off to see Teamg GB Women's Football team play Canada today at Coventry. Chris, Megan and Katie are going with us. We'll let you know the score!
Lots of love,

Bob Dylan Country Hi Ya'all out on the range and in them Badlands. We were really impressed by Ruby's spectacular break into the RV. She has a great future as a burglar. Only joking!! Did you know Bob Dylan is from them parts i.e. Hibbing, Minnesota? The University looks very nice and your friends very welcoming. We now have good weather its really hot here now. It got to 25 degrees!! And yesterday 35 degrees. OK we can't compete with you folks with your 50 degrees in the shade, but when you have been wearing wooly jumpers for the past three months it seems like an oven.
Keep on trucking and trying those roadside diners. One day there will a good 'un.
Lots of love to you all

Yippee Eiyo Well partners its looking like a long trek for you folks way out west. All them bison, bears and geysers and stuff. Who were them two critters in cow poke get up. We think they were called Georgy and Rubix or summat likey that. They looked mean and ornery and could shoot a mince pie out of your mouth.
As you can see folks we are now back in touch and we loved your blog. Keep on truckin'!!
Lots of love

Thundering Hell Hi Ye Folks in the wild west.
You sure seem to be having a hell of a time what with fridges, and thunderstorms and hot weather and German Towns that aren't German Towns and lakes and people from all over!!! By the way how are Lewis and Clark? Have they got there yet? Tell them not to visit Seattle - a great disappointment!
Love the photos but can you show us one of the RV Winnie'sbacon please. Thanks.

Hello Squeaky sand and sticks for kids to bash each other with - sounds like every child's dream! I hope you have all recovered from your inferno-RV "adventure" and that you are not delayed much longer. Lovely photos.
Looks amazing... Loving George's newspaper reports - budding journalist in the making?! My friend Kath has just moved to Washington State from San Diego because she said it is so beautiful and looking at your photos I can see why... you all okay?
sun, sea, sand and sausages Hi you folks
Looky likey you are still having a fun time. We like the drive thru tree. A pity it wouldn't take you vehicle. Did anyone go through on a pogo stick? Could've bumped their head though. Ummm.
That coast is very Cornishy and when we drove up Highway 1 thought that too.
Did you finally get your police reports? We hope so. Its nice that the people are so friendly.
Love to you all,
Nanny and Grand Canyon
What an adventure! Dear Carla
What a time of it you had - certainly puts the small stuff in prespective! Felt a bit weepy when I read about the kindness of strangers with the fire crew and police - I don't want to make a sweeping generalisation but more often than not Americans are very good in a crisis (except for George Bush II) - I think it has something to do with their pioneering pilgrim routes! Thank goodness you are all OK and well done for keeping that big baby upright, very impressive!
Look forward to your next update.
All the best

On the Road Again Hi Ya'll in America land. It's great to see that you are back on the road again.

A Grand Canyon Hi all,
I loved the Grand Canyon photos, and seeing George and Ruby's faces in Disneyland. Not surprised if it's all starting to catch up with you - you've gone more than half way round the world. I think the US can be tricky - it lulls you into a false sense of familiarity with the language but it's just as foreign as somewhere in Asia.
Hopefully you'll have some relaxing time on the road as you head north, are you going through Oregon and the Redwood forests?
All th
Dizzy with Disney You guys seem to be having not only a great time but an 'awsome' one! Disneyland sounds great especially the rides etc. Are they real people being photographed with Ruby? We envy your visit to the grand Canyon it does sound truly AWSOME!!
Lots of love

Happy (belated) birthday Ruby....! Sounds like you're having a wonderful adventure, and spending time at Disneyland must have been magical. Benji's birthday was on the same day as yours and he would love to have seen Rapunzel, Flynn and all the Disney princesses. He did get what he wanted though, which was a pack of 10 Disney princess dolls! Thank you for sharing your travels and photos - they make us want to fly out and join you! You all write very beautifully and we look forward to hearing and seeing more soon. Keep having a fantastic time...for all of us! Love from all of us...xx
Awesome! As ever, fab to catch up with your travels and whatever we may think, there is NOTHING quite like that sheer delight that all children experience from visiting Disney Land - wonderful!
Dear Carla
Loved reading about your experiences in CA & AZ... it will be interesting to see what you think about Las Vegas if you are heading that way - makes Disneyland feel factual & grounded! The Grand Canyon is one of my favourite places in the US, so beautiful and unspoiled by too much commercialism (was anyway when I visited 16 years ago). My Mum and I did the drive up from Phoenix stopping off in Sedona for a couple of days (such a peaceful & spiritual little town - again was 16 yrs ago anyway!). We stayed right on the edge of the canyon in one of the old miners cabins & it was so peaceful looking out over the canyon at night with hardly anyone around (only lit by the Haley Bob - think this was what is was called - Comet that was in orbit at that time). I think, in general the National Park Service do a good job of keeping the parks real & unspolit by too much comercialism but this is the mecca of the stuff so I guess they can't keep out everything else the civilions wouldn't visit!
Needless to say I hated Vegas though had a very good time with the group of friends I went with from work for a wedding (that was a fiasco!) so very much had the full "Vegas Experience" staying in the Bellagio, limo rides, one friend lost all her money on the slot machines etc.. 2 days there was my absolute limit...
Am getting excited about Me and NS - just starting to do some research about what to see/do etc.
Loved George's cartoon strip!!
