Keep Writing Keep writing the entries, they get me out of the office for a little while every couple days. Besides, there are plenty of other places to go on the web for racy content. So as much as I hate YOU, I love the blog!
By the way, while you are in China, see what you can do about getting them to unpeg the Yuan.
so jealous Hey Mark,
I have been reading your posts and I am so jealous. The pictures really add to your stories. it makes me realize how much I miss that place down under. Any chance encounters with cassowaries or baramundi fish? Keep telling us about your antics.

feliz cumpleanos, sucka glad to hear the b-day was up to par. and you're just now realizing that bringing extra underwear constitutes overpacking? i guess you're getting wise in your old age. glad you're having a blast, bud.
now go kiss a koala on the lips. slowly. that's it. now spit in his face.
p.s. - aikes, i too will be waiting for the kid at LAX customs. not only to give him a welcome home burrito, but also to get the four kilos of uncut he'll be kiestering back from the far east. marky, if you're even one gram short, i'll have to put a charge on my mexican credit card. in your kidney. now spit on aikes's face. mmmm.
hey babe - glad to hear the trip is going so well!! we miss you back in the states, but you deserve this get away.......just as long as you come home at some point:)
Hey buddy happy birthday. I'm not surprised to hear you loved your trip to Fraser Island, to this day Leah still raves about the stars from her trip to the island. It is sadly the one thing I didn't get to do either time down there. Oh well maybe next time...glad to hear all is well. Take it easy man.
Dude... Sounds amazing. Your writing is so captivating and illustrative. Maybe if business school gets old you could work for Fodor's...I mean, only after your stretch managing international bikini teams.
you're dead to me I'll dismiss this blasphemy as pure ignorance. However, I'm still gonna have to beat you like a gong when you get back. I may even be waiting in LA to do it just as you finish clearing customs. Then we can get a burrito and move on.
CP I took a chance on an American guy who made a few quick comments about how he really dug abstract ideas about evolution. As I hung with him more, I realized it was a perfect choice...
fantastic LaLa - that's fantastic, i definitely missed that about the socks. too bad I've left Melbourne and headed to Queensland and the world of Rugby League and won't be seeing much more AFL. Can't believe people other than my friends and family are reading my blog, but it's pretty cool! Keep checking in!
Aussie Rules is about socks Hi Mark - My sister found your blog and told me you needed help. I lived in Melbourne for 5 years, although now I live in Boston and originally I'm from Texas. I went to an Aussie Rules game my first year out and decided that the super goofy Dr. Seuss socks make the game. I went with my mother and she and I developed an elaborate theory that tall socks were for senior team members and short socks were for newbies. Then we saw a player with one tall sock and one short sock. We were stumped. Turns out the socks mean nothing to true fans. Just us new folks. I also really love the cheesy 1940s sounding mens' choir anthems that each team plays while running out onto the field. I hope you didn't miss that. And meat pies! You have to eat a meat pie at the game! (Unless you're vegetarian...)
FYI, my friends in Melbourne tell me this has been the hottest summer and autumn they recall, and that winter is taking its sweet time arriving.
Watch out for deadly right hand turns from the far left lane in the CBD. It's bizarre fun to watch if you're looking. Kind of lethal if you're oblivious.
Check out the Melbourne Museum in Carlton Gardens. I used to work there and lived across the street in Fitzroy. It's a great area for walking, gawking and eating.
oy! y'wont sum smoke ey? wilson, if you're still there buy from the guy behind the museum. don't be fooled by the mexican dirt he has in his oversized backpack. ask him for the good shit. he keeps it in his pants...seriously...nuthin gay, best bud in all of Oz
Livin' the dream It looks like everything is going how you planned (including the whole, not planning thing). Reading the CP on the beach.... ah the life.
Friend in Australia I'm glad you love the book. I was wondering if you had read it. I've tried to loan it out to a few other people and realized you still have it. Consider it yours for life. I'll grab a few more copies. It's one of my favorite books ever as well. My friend Nick lives in Melbourne. Let me know if you will be in the area. I'll get you in touch with him. xo RRR
I am now officially chasing the dragon! 3 months of travel around Australia & Asia has done nothing but whet my whistle for another year abroad. Now, hear my adventures from the Whore of the Orient, the Paris of the East, the city that's one great big opium den itself - Shanghai! Will a year in China before heading off to USC Business School finally satiate my wanderlust? or will it just suck me in even further in the quest for a new rush. On this last trip, the world only got bigger for me. The more I've seen, the more I realize there is to see. Stick around and hear my tales.... full info
