Off again at 9:30 after the standard Zimmer mit frühstuck (B&B) breakfast fare....breads, cheese, meats, boiled egg, granola and yoghurt. After 3 km we left Austria and entered Italy with very little border fanfare. The remains of the former border crossing activity was still visible but no one guards it anymore. Fred said that the Schwenger Agreement in the 90s (can't remember the exact year) allowed people to pass freely....not part of the EU trade agreements, as I thought. We followed a new river, the Grau, through farmers' fields with Alps on both side on a paved bike path. First town was innichen/San Candido...everything has two names - Itlaian and Austrian. The Grau disappeared into the mountains and we started to follow the Rienz instead to Toblach/Dobbiaco...time for coffee and my first apple strudel...strange to get
