what a lovely story..... Hi Richard,
I work with your mum and she forwarded on your blog to me. I love travelling and seeing other cultures etc and always like to hear from her what you (and your sister) are up to! I have to say that having just read this blog about your days with Cassie, it actually brought a tear to my eye..it is written so well, seriously you should write a book about your travels, I'm sure people would love it.
Your trip sounds amazing, I'm incredibly jealous but wil continue to read about your trip!

Very proud of your get up and go for it attitude to life!! Remember keep safe and continue to experience anything and everything of interest!! Bonne chance mon ami. love Dixx

The silk road Hi Richard
I only thought the other day I wonder how you've been getting on..Those chicken feet look grossssss!were the cooked uggg! they looked raw..has your stomach held up. Mine would of been like the firework display going off I'm sure!
Strange about the silk road. When I was in Ethiopia 3 years ago we went along the (so called)'Silk Road' built by the Chinese for trading.I wonder if it is the same one? Strange miles and miles apart you wonder if any trod the route from one end to the other and just how long it must of taken?
What an adventure! I marvel at your courage , stamina and enthusaism for such a trip...never quite knowing what to expect next!!Awaiting with interest and excitment , your next adventure! Well bon chance mon ami and take good care.

Hello from Grandma Fenner Thankyou for sending all your blogs. I am awe-struck at your ability to cope, at the same time I dont envy you your diet and long hours of travel. The places you have been sound unbelieveable and very beautiful. We worry about your expedition to Mongolia and wish you and Sam "good luck". The weather here is cold too! How are you managing to find a cashpoint in a buddhist temple etc?! We hope you and Sam are still friends after all your trials and adventures.
We think of you both and look forward to your safe return at Christmas. Im impressed by photos/your diaries, if not the spellings! When are you going to publish a book and present your travelogue on tellie ?!! Bye for now. Lots of love from me and your grandad Fenner. Stay safe.
Good luck Very enterprising Richard. Cow stomach, known to us as tripe was loved by my mother, who used to eat it raw with vinegar. Lord knows what you will be offered, but good for you for giving it all a go. Love you lots,
Grandma and Granddad
BEAUTIFUL! Richard, your photos are amazing! The water is so clear and just wow!!! Bet u didnt go for a swim tho haha! I would love to be experiencing everything that you are writing about! It all seems so relaxed and peaceful....not much like where i am now! haha! You deserve all of this :) xxx lots of love
from the Watcher to the Traveller!! THe waterfalls are still amazing!! What you didn't say was approx what the drop height is and why the lake is so clear and has 5 colours?
Was it eerily quiet by the beautiful lake with no wind?
Have you found the food ok is it anything like the take away's at home that claim to be authentic.....!!!I doubt it!
Lovely as always to hear 'L'histoire du Riccard'!love Di XXXXX

I've heard of magic mushrooms but!!! More amazing pics. The image is so good! The soldiers are something I would so like to see too. Not so sure of the one in the wolly hat he looks a bit 'dodgy'!
I hope you're able to keep finding places to log on. It is very exciting waiting for the next episode, especially the little funny comments on the photo's. Hope the weather warms up a bit!!! I'm off to France on the 12th feb and they've had a bit of snow there too. Steve was very interested to read your adventures and I think he dropped you a line aswell. Ithink he's very envious off your youthful gadding around!!
Love Di
Well done Richard Well done for persevering and keeping up your blog. We shall have you know that you really can write, our grandson. You have a very easy, readable style with a very witty, perceptive outlook. Keep at it - it could reap rewards in future. As well as that, it is wonderful for us back home to keep up with your adventures like this. We all admire you for having the guts to do it, but it is nice to hear from you, because even though you are at the other side of the world, we feel close to you. Lynwen says, this has made her want to follow in your footsteps! Looking forward to hearing your take on the horse riding that we read about on Sam's blog. Love you lots. Take care and have fun,
Grandma and Grandad
Well this is it. Armed with a rucksack and a very vague plan, I'm ready to get lost
This blog is intended to prove I'm still alive to those who are quizzical.
Although it may go through periods of inactivity, the internet being as illusive as clean water in many places.
