Thanks I like the experience shared in this blog.
Varanasi is my favourite place too in India, despites of all the short commings by the govt or the people....Its a nice place and a good platform to communicate with self.....
Thanks
Rad! Yeah this is an amazing Blog!! sounds like the trip of a life time!! i lived in mongolia for six months and am soon going back! i would love to do something similar to your adventure! say i flew to bejing, would i need a Chinese tourist visa to pass through on the train? do u know of any websites to find more information? thanks
Enjoyed Belgium We loved Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp, but I agree with you on the attitudes of the people, though we took on the challenge of trying to get them to warm up to us. We did have some success! You mislabeled your photo at the top-it is the Markt, not the Burg.
I love truth... Hi, girl ! You wrote about the styles of Russian women... It's just envy... I see your own style.... Excuse me... but you looks like poor Ukrainian homeless girl.... Furthermore, you never understand Russians... Your observations are mostly stupid... Sorry...but it is a scientific fact... Your prejudice is obvious... It's impossible to understand Russia sitting in the cheapest carriage of the train... There are a lot of luxury carriages... The obstacle is only your income.... But it is completely different story...
Great piece there El, some of the other ballbags on this forum must have nothing else to do with their time rather than lambast ye for turning out a sterling article, Cockholster yer a knob! Makes me wonder if the cock ever gets out of it's holster or does it stay sheathed while you sit up late at night on your computer??
Great read about a country i have simply ruled out in the past through the fear of it being too dangerous. Nice to see a pic with you guys still together from the Ragga tour Belize. I am sorry to say i've been stuck behind my desk back in the UK since that time.. Boo!!
good on ya another bloody good yarn there El. It sounds like u r keepen on keepen on. Sounds like the coffee parts were good, not quite sure how u did it with out the wisdom and insight i gave in mexico but well done.
Keep em coming
Ignorant I believe the correct spelling is Colombia. Also, the last I checked, Brazil's population was reaching 200 million, hardly making Colombia the largest country in South America.
Fascinating Thank you so much for writing about your experiences so enthusiastically and positively! Hooked on Africa, I'd been toying with the idea of adding Colombia into a possible future South American tour, but had been stalled a little by the negative press, but you remind me that there is so much more to every country than the only-bad-news-is-good-news headlines in the western press. Carry on having fun!
Amused Hi Cockholster - I look forward to reading your blog on Columbia then! Though, seems you don't have the gumption to provide a link to your blog ... E
Annoying Are you too full of yourself or is it me being over-sensitive about bragging and boasting? Colombia is a normal country, not an adventure or as you like to put it; a challenging destination. So get off your horse(not your face) and get back to your mum.
you go girl!!! i absolutely love your blogs, living in argentina, you keep me in touch with whats goin on in my little ireland!!! v witty too! glad to see youre takin it all in....have you graced mulligans yet with yer presence???!!!!take care chica xxx
Little Corn Hey Jeff - before we went across, we were unable to track down anyone who'd actually been to the Corn Islands to give us current feedback about the safety situation. But as you can see - we had no issues, they've cleaned up the islands a lot in the past few years apparently. Cheers, Ellen
Ah memories.. Lot of fun reading your blog, I was in Nica earlier this year and in many of the same places (Granada, Isla Ometepe). We spent a good part of our time at a friend's place in Playa Remanso, about 15 minutes from San Juan del Sur... Very intrigued about the Corn Islands now, I had read they were pretty seedy/dangerous and to not bother going...after seeing your pics and reading your stories I guess I have to go back!
Greetings from Kilkenny! Some fantastic observations about Ireland, it sounds like you're enjoying it so far. Hope you enjoyed the hurling final - everyone in Kilkenny did:) I think the point about there being more Polish than Gaelic speakers is very true. Btw, Bertie Ahern is the ex-Prime Minister, not the President. Good luck with the job hunt and with living in Dublin.
Hello from Eyre Ellen, wonderful to read about your world travels! Say hello to Noreen from me. We are back at the Observatory for 7 months then hopefully to Bungle Bungle for season next year. Keep well and hope you get a great job! Guess it is time for you to settle a bit ! LOL ! XX
I'm an Aussie girl who's mad about travel! Me and my pack have covered lots of ground over the past few years ....
2003 - 3 months leave to backpack Europe & Canada
2004 - Holidays in Bali, Indonesia
2005 - Holidays in Turkey, Greece & Thailand
2006 - 5 months leave to travel around the world - India, Nepal, to China, across Mongolia and Russia, through Eastern and some of Western Europe. Then home via Canada and the US.
January 2007 - Holidays, North Island, NZ
September, 2007 I decided I needed a break from the corporate grind and resigned from Ford in Australia, to do a year ... full info
