Egg guess... Gaz - did you click on a google advert above the blog? By the way - we are loving your consistent sci fi approach - you never let us down. Also - Alan says he's putting on weight, not losing it - he's got a new name 'superpit' - we'll tell you why when we get to the Kalgoorlie Boulder blog. Luv ya, Eggs.
Looks good. Real Man's trees!
Kind of reminds me of the Ewok village from Star Wars Episode 6 (adopts Comic Guy from the Simpsons tone of voice.)
And is it just me, or has Alan lost weight? Look, he really has!
Photos Hi Steven - thanks for comm. We are hoping to get to Fraser Island at some point - I'll maybe have worked out a fly repellant recipe by then, we'll need to see! Re photos - we could bore you to death with a slide show that would last for a week with all the shots we have taken, so you'll have that to look fwd to next year! Shaz.
Oh for a moment in paradise! Rottnest looks awesome! A friend sent some pics back when he was over in W.A. flying and some of them were ariel shots of rottnest. Hopefully you will get to the Whitsunday Islands off the east coast at some point. They are equally gorgeous and many have no roads at all. I do recall the pesky flies! They are an issue all over Australia my worst experience being on Fraser Island with 70 on my back at once (photo available to honour the horrible moment!) I hope you guys keep the originals from your digicam as I would like to see the full size versions of many of your pictures. Happy Travels :D RW
G'day I love reading your blog - Perth looks great, and yes, I want a wallaby too!! I'm so glad you two are having a fantastic time and that I am along for the ride, albeit vicariously. I will be thinking of that blue sky and endless sunshine this coming Friday, known here in the States as "Black Friday".
Steven - you are not a Malaca! Thats one of those brill pieces of useless info that I adore.... wish I'd have known that before we went to Wankerville, it wold have provided me with hours of fun! Nice to hear from you - hope you re enjoying work, mate! Shaz. xxxx
Eh up MALACA! Firstly, are you aware that Malaca means wanker in Greek?
Anyway,I think thats the best Blog yet! Some wonderful pictures. The little lantern one catches my eye for some reason. You can practically hear the wind rushing through the palm fronds and blowing the lantern around. Class!
As for 'Raging ginger' the hair dye... that had me in stitches! :D
Cheers

Hi,
Hope you had a good time in Malacca. The 'durian' picture is actually not durian, they are jackfruit. Durian, I know kinda smelly, hehehe...but they are spiky outside.
Great to see you again Sharon and nice to meet you Alan.
Couple of comments. First, the scenery on the train being like Vietnam filsm... well, a large number of the movies(almost all) were filmed in Thailand. Others in the Phillipines. The Killing Fields was filmed in the area you wenbt through, and the 'American Embassy' is now a 5 star hotel in Hua Hin, a resort on the coast.
Agreed, iot is an awful shame what the locals have done to Koh Tao. No planning at all. In fact, the island that is leased in Koh Nang Yuan, just off KT. The islanders are VERY resistant to any mainland interference, hence the terrible state of public services. Everything has to be brought from the mainland.. even fish and coconuts.. so the islanders, actually one family, have a monopoly on what comes in as they own the boats. The family also own the local building merchants, and if you bring materials to the island they slap a massive surcharge on it.
Weather wise this is the most unperdicatble time of year in Thailand. Often you get 3/4 days of rain, followed by the same of good weather...but when it rains my word does it rain!!!
Enjoy your trip as it continues, and keepm up the interesting blogs( and really good photos too)
I love reading your about your adventures - keep them coming. About the lightening - I did see a fantastic storm like the one you are talking about with the forked lightening only once when I was in south africa. It truly was mesmerizing. At least on that side of the world, when they have a storm, they have a strom. Enjoy yourselfs. Take care.
Told you so? ;) Makes for fun reading! I was in Thailand at the same time as you are and had some lovely weather and some pretty minging weather! I wouldn't give up on it however I totally agree that the islands are very boring when the weather is bad as there is very little to do! For Picturesque you have to go to Kho Phi Phi on your return journey. What a BEAUTIFUL little island it is and not TOO many mini tips ;). As for the packs of dogs, they can be quite frightening but as you say its usually towards other dogs not humans. As for the 'lucky' burger... all I can say is.. HAHAHAHAHA :D things obviously never change! I bet you it was a chicken burger and they just never bothered to tell you! Love reading about the travels. Travel Safe

Missing you already! Hey, SO glad you've arrived safe and sound - been checking blog like a mad obsessive for entry #1. Everything sounds amazing - 'bin juice' made me feel a bit sick though. Stay safe Sxx
Hi Chaps! I have been reading your blog updates as they come over on email. Glad to hear you have made it out of the UK. Sounds like your having a good time in Bangkok. Its a pretty wild place! The smells, the sights, the wildly different culture! I had a great time in the islands. Bangkok itself was just TOO much at times. I'm looking fwd to reading your blogs once you get out of the city!

Hullo!! We did a big fat trip a wee while ago covering Bonnie Scotland (our home), France, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and China. Then we came home and had a lovely baby girl called Beth and Alan went back to work. Beth is 14 months old now (I know - where does the time go??) and we haven't been anywhere exotic for yonks. Consequently we are now 'dormant bloggers' which makes us feel a bit dreary, so we better get our skates on and find some good places to visit and report on pronto!!.................... full info
