Cheers Chazlie! There's plenty of Scottish thistles to jag yourself on in Tassie, so I'm sure you'll get a real big Scottish HIT there!. I'm just away to have a deek at your own blog and see what you make of our homeland! Thanks and enjuoy your last month Mr.

Long Live Scotland!! I've never wanted to travel Australia more since I left it to come to Scotland!! :) I am in Fort William at the moment and absolutely love the highlands here! But I come home in less than a month, so I'll have to try and make a trip to Tassie to console my Scottish withdrawls!! :) Love the photos! Great blog!

P.S. still to busy to read all the blog, I am Australian after all.
Silently watching Alan bloody McCabe, how the hell are you? "Tis I, the mad Cathster from the MDDUS. Thought you might be wondering who the heck was watching you that you didn't know! As you can see I've had a change of name. Decided to trade in old husband for new one!!! Have really enjoyed reading your blog. Amanda told me about it as I'll hopefully be moving down under sometime this year (hubby's an Aussie). It's given me loads of ideas about places to visit. Keep it up. Cathy :o)
anniversary have read all the blogs and very jealous. photos good and brought back memories of Oz. At least I wait till I get home before I read the blogs !!
Forecast snow and we get sun? Going home on the train from Glasgow-Edinburger. The sun is shining but the snow is seemingly on the way. Nelson looks great. Mmm champers....place looks great!
Reading in Tacoma, WA Okay, not as catchy as Sleepless in Seattle ... love reading all about your trip. The pictures are excellent. I wish my photos were as good. Either I have a pish camera or I'm just pish as taking photos. Probably the latter. I'll bet Linley French could tell you what kind of fruit that is - being that she is a Kiwi, and is back living in NZ.
Its not too pish! Hiya,
Still reading and enjoying the blog- good to see a bit of sunshine on a cold edinburgh morning! I was only in Nelson for one day when i was in NZ, but I loved it and wanted to stay forever.
Enjoy your champers and 4 poster bed!
Steven_RW- get some work done! 28th Feb, 12:00. At work.

She looks great Beryl can stay over - not so sure about the other two folk in the photo,s!
Right colours for the Local Rugby Team here in the Wikato - but no yellow pee please ?
Beetles I didn't know you could actually get roadworthy Beetles. I thought they were only found in may bits sitting in a garage for years on end. Now you'll have given him the idea to go and buy another front end!!!!
Dearth of peeps Hi Steven - nice to hear from you - you must have been allowed a three minute break from doing flash reports to grab some time to write some comments, no? Re people - I know what you mean - sometimes we do it on purpose, waiting for folk to get out of the way before we snap. Lots of places we've visited have herds of tourists nashing around quickly so we try to avoid getting them in the frame. However, if we are on a street or market or cafe or something which has natural pedestrian population then that's a different story. Its more 'real'. Some places are however really quiet. Western Australia was especially so, and many of the beaches we visit are often practically empty.
Bye for now, Shaz :-)
No other ppl? I missed this blog when it came out and just read it now. What I do notice with the pictures is the lack of other people. It often looks like you two are the only people on the planet. Is it really that quiet in most of places you are at?
Cheers!

Glasgae Curry Nothing like travelling as far round the globe as you can get from home to find a nice hot Glasgow curry ;-) Deary me! haha
I am still reading avidly!
Cheers

vegemite on your bites I was doing some research for you and if you do get bitten by sand fly's then rub the bite with vegemite. The vitamin B complex in it stops the itch. Taking vitamin B12 will make your pee turn yellow. Good sources of Vitamin B12 are meat, liver, fish, eggs and dairy products. The vitamin b12 will be better absorbed by the body than tablets so get eating!!!
V Remember that TV programme 'V' it was on in the late eighties and the 'V' stood for Visitors, who were aliens. Thats how Robert Englund (Fredy) came to us on screen initialy. Anyway - Amanda, great to hear from you not sure where Linley stays but sling us her details ad we'll take from there. Also - we got a photo of a fab 50s style juke box which we think you'll like, coming up in the next blog. Byee. x
Southern Cross Will this do?http://www.travelblog.org/Photos/154353.html
It's a photo of a water pump which says 'Southern Cross' on it. It's the best we can do under the circumstances (lazyness basically). Se ya! Eggs xx
Visiting folk you know I don't suppose you'd be interested in stopping by Linley's place, but if you are, let me know and I'll pass along her email address. Your photos are amazing by the way, and your blog is as great as always. Cheers me up on a cold, wet, windy Washington day.
Gee, I guess Geraldton sure changed in the years since I was there. It used to have at least 15 pubs, (and most pretty packed every day including Sundays) and the population was only 14,000. It was livlier than Perth! Had loads of fun there. Most of the pubs also had live bands playing. I even sang with a couple of bands when they came to town and wanted a female singer. ( That was extra cash for me to save and keep travelling.) I ended up staying there for about five months and working there too. What a shame, as I have fond memories of the place. I guess things change over the years.
Havnae a clue, BUT: by the powers invested in me by Google:
Here's the band talking about the track, shamelessly pinched from Melody Maker:
Bob:
'That was supposed to be a cinematic thing about American tenement blocks. But it doesn't do that for anyone. So it's not about American tenement blocks at all, do you know what I mean? The idea was, she used to live there, but she got rich and moved away, and now she's going back. I got the idea from a horrible Seventies airbrushed painting I saw in a book called Rock Dreams of Diana Ross going back to where she used to live.'
Pete:
'Jarvis does that in Sheffield. He drives round Sheffield in a limo, laughing.'
And a comment from Robert Orchard who is a fan living in Croydon;
'I work in Croydon (Pete and Bobs home town), and I used to cycle to work. One morning, I was listening to So Tough, to Hobart Paving, and I stopped at some traffic lights, about a mile from where I work. I looked up and saw the words Hobart Paving on the back of a van, and nearly fell off my bike. Hobart Paving is the name of a construction company in Croydon.'
So there you are. A Construction company in...Croydon. I'm sorry I asked now.

Hullo!! We did a big fat trip a wee while ago covering Bonnie Scotland (our home), France, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and China. Then we came home and had a lovely baby girl called Beth and Alan went back to work. Beth is 14 months old now (I know - where does the time go??) and we haven't been anywhere exotic for yonks. Consequently we are now 'dormant bloggers' which makes us feel a bit dreary, so we better get our skates on and find some good places to visit and report on pronto!!.................... full info
