Skiing Woah! What a day! Looks pretty exciting, beautiful....and COLD! It also looks like Duckie and Paddington are getting a little close to the edge there in some of the pictures.
great As I told you, Switzerland is a beautiful country. The pictures are great. Houses are beautiful, also and nature.
enjoy in your trip through Europe?
Warmer Well, it is warmer all over, it is just that going from -20 to -5 celsius doen't melt the snow. So, there is kind of a line along the mountains, above which there is snow. Also, Athens is much further south than France. And even Greece still had some snow on the mountains. Therefore, it does vary depending on where I go (in Athens, I wore a t-shirt and shorts, while here in the Swiss Alps I'm all bundled up).
More on the buff side... Yeah, my legs are getting a lot stronger... as well as my back. By the time I get there, I don't think I'll have any soreness. Also, my shin splints are more or less gone. :)
Walking So does that mean you're gonna be incredibly buff from all the walking when you get here?.......or just sore!!! I'll get the epsom salts out for you!
Weather You said the snow is melting in the mountains....is it still cooler there, or is it getting warmer? You said Greece and Italy had springlike weather, just wondering if it was staying the same or being variable based on where you're traveling.
Miles A rough guess is about 10 miles. I have not mapped it out, though. I am still sore, and then yesterday, Teresa and I hiked all over Lyon, France (more on that, soon).
Looking up Sounds like things are looking up. I wasn't able to look at your itinerary because I don't have the right program to read it. I'll have to ask that it be re-sent from Mom. Still can't wait fo you to be here in Bahrain....no more hostels! Woo hoo!
beautiful pictures, as usual. may i have your express permission to use some of them as desktops and screen savers? hehehe.....hey, i hope you feel better! drink lots o' orange juice (or just borrow some oranges off those trees!)
Athens Lucky to be in Athens just as the weather here changed to what it should be (and under normal conditions is).
Not being too abnoxious, I hope, just a correction: The hill opposite the Acropolis is the "Pnyx" not the Pynx, the place were ancient Athenians gathered to discuss and vote on public affairs. Safe journey!
super You made some fantastic pictures in Athens. As I can see you have visited the most beautiful places there, such as Parthenon.
I can not wait to see pictures from Switzerland.
Statue comment Why does the statue guy have a sword and a bird and is naked? See, that's what happens when you drink all that Serbian wine! Let that be a lesson to you, Henry!
I enjoy traveling... meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, seeing amazing architecture and landscapes, and trying new food. I also like to learn from observing and listening to the people I meet along the way and hopefully make a few new friends.... full info
