Now that we are home I thought I had better catch up the last few days of the trip. Unfortunately the wifi connections were not that good towards the end of the trip. After we left Sevilla, we headed for Granada. We stopped and spent part of the day in Cordoba and visited the Mezquita. La Mezquita is the worlds third largest mosque and is a fantastic place. Although it has officially been a Christian site for almost 9 centuries, its identity as a mosque is inescapable. The mosque was begun by Caliph Abd el Rahman I in 786 AD. It combined Roman, Gothic, Byzantine, Syrian and Persian elements. The structure has elaborate rooms, courtyards and gardens. I could have stayed there and wandered around for hours.
