hi there! sorry for late reply, only just picked up messages on here. might well have bumped into you on the ganges. i thought id do something original for xmas morning but it seemed that the whole of varanasi had the same idea! plus my camera battery died before the sun rose, so missed the shots i was after. where were you staying? i was at the uma guesthouse, working at the learn for life school next door, was the charity in the lonely planet guide. am in bodhgaya now for the dalai lamas teachings. inspiring stuff, but so chaotic, more so than varanasi if thats possible! 33,000 population normally and theres probably the same amount again just in pilgrims and tourists! so you headed to delhi after varanasi? to fly home or onwards travel?
hey there, had a couple of comments from you, but no name, just an email that i dont recognise? so bad of me i know, sorry, just trying to respond to everyones comments but not sure who this is going to? maybe i lost my memory during the jet lag culture shock days!
buffalo milk is not so great, especially on the cornflakes - and ESPECIALLY after you've seen the buffalo frothing at the mouth the day before, not an inspiring 'eat me i'm tasty' image! and christmas in india is something else. but still miss the lack of snow, i hear its really heavy in england?
well hopefully i can put a name to the message soon, and thanks for the comments :-)
12 days of Christmas Hi Drew,
Have found your blog again and worked my way around it this time - every other time I've looked in it wouldn't go past the first page with the stig. Happy Christmas - I know its a bit late - but life has been hectic here I guess you've heard that Cameron has been in hospital and we had Tyler and Morgan with us for Christmas with Grandma and Grandad,we had a great time. Cameron is doing much better now.
The blog makes for very interesting reading, life there seems a million miles away from Nettleham. certainly a varied culture sounds like an amazing place.
Thanks for the Christmas presents - the chalk chess was very inspiring and Uncle Marc will have great fun with the origami pages. The fan light will be very useful especially in the caravan.
The flutes have been an amazing hit with Tyler and Morgan and the unsuspecting audience!!.
enjoy your travels - I'll pay another visit soon and see how its going
Take care

Sounds like a good time - hmm japanese cuisine in India - how did that go? Hmm Buffaloo milk - sounds interesting to say the least! So did you enjoy the Indian Christmas?
Urban Myth Wherever you got the ides from that Santa does not exist, don't believe it! It is one of the cruelest urban myths around. Only Sanata can get round every house in the world on Christmas Eve, great as your Dad is, he would never manage all in one night.
Glad to see you are enjoying it. A senses overload every day. Take care and cherish the experience.
Varanasi Hi Drew, we were there at the Ganges river on Christmas monring as well. We probably bump to you but did not realized it. We are leaving for Delhi today. It would be interesting to compare notes.. Steven
Greetings! Hi Drew it all sounds amazing, you look really well on the photo's and no doubt you are enjoying yourself. A belated happy birthday for yesterday I did leave a message on facebook, but you probably haven't seen it yet.
We will follow your travels with interest; take good care, love from all the McKenzie's x x
India here I come! (with the little lego 'stig' for memorable photo moments)
22 November 2009 - 3rd April 2010
5 months in India, living in the chaos of the largest democracy in the world. Over 1 billion people and 20 times the size of our beloved UK!
Gonna be doing a fair bit of volunteer work, teaching english and learning about sustainable living. Really want to see whether yoga and drama can work together in education as well - and what better place to find out than the birthplace of yoga, with some of the most dramatic people on earth! :-)
So far I've got plans to go to Amar... full info
