poor destination it seems Eritrea is a nation stuck in an empty pride, with nothing to show! Eritrea lacks not only wealth but character, unlike most African countries that are poor but rich in character. by the way do they have a national dish that is not of Italian or Ethiopian? just curious.
Boracay, El Nido, Donsol, Sagada? Goodness...you guys hit all the good spots! Great blog and be sure to come back, there are 7,000 islands more to discover.
Wow! Hi Douglas and Julie!
I'm really yealous! It sounds like you're having a great time!
At the moment I'm working in a hospital and it's really interesting!
Hope to hear from you again!
Enjoy your time travelling!

ships passing... again Hi Guys,
It looks like we just missed each other again, rather like Trivandrum!
I was in Beijing and Shanghai about three weeks ago - until the 2nd June
Probably passed you in Tiananmen Square!
Must look closely at my forbidden city photos, other tourists managed to get into most of them..
I'm heading off to Chad to do some aid work, I guess that's one place I won't meet you, not a lot to see I believe
Am enjoyng the blogs, have got a bit lax myself..
Regards
Margaret ( Konya/Aleppo train, Krak/Palymra/Damascus)
howdy hey guys,
Great to hear from you!!! We are in Broome now, arrived last week with our clean laundry (i was delighted). Not much is happening here, ever, but we're still holding out for pearling so we'll just wait and see what happens. G is working in a building site and i'm doing housekeeping in a posh hotel so that's keeping us going at the mo.
Your pics are fab and reading your blog is like a section from one of Bill Bryson's best, very impressed.
Have fun guys in China and Bali. Work work work on that tan Julie, it'll be worth it at the wedding.

Woo woo all aboard the gravy train! By the way bringing this trip forward by a week certainly focuses the mind, just as well my huge project management and planning knowledge was there to tap into (wrote a list, descoped 95%). So, travel insurance is the last thing to do, well the last thing I'm going to do. The rest can wait!
Getting picked up, lift and laid, in a couple of hours for the sleazy jet to Gatwick and then (just realised last night one can still partake of a few schmokes in the airport boozers, no Jack McConnell suite for Stuarty boy) a four/ five hour wait with mad mental moorie.
12 hoors on the flight to Hong of the Kong and we'll be there Thursday around 5 for some dim sum and dim sum more. Looking forward to seeing you guys....rack em up
Bahhhhhrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooo
It just looks better and better, Borneo I mean, Orangs. As for diving I have never really thought about it but must be better than flying! I think I'll have a go! Arrochar here I come. Nae sharks there. Drena
What a life Can't believe you are living the life of riley whilst i am here with dirty nappies, runny noses and piles of vomit!! This life could be yours too when you get back!!
On a nicer note i am really enjoying the blog and it sounds and looks like you are having the time of your lives. Hope it continues to be as good and looking forward to seeing you Douglas in July.
I can't take it anymore I religiously read your travelblog and instead of being more accepting I am getting more and more green!!!! Phillipines looks fabulous, not surprised you stayed for so long. Enjoy!
white sands Hey "Scots",
You'll see whiter sand in Zanzibar! (we just came back from there) looks like you're still having great fun... enjoy!
andrew and cynthia from Jordan.
Great blog Your blog on the philippine visit was the best i have read here. Really!
Very descriptive, real and well written. Glad you enjoyed the islands.
Bon voyage!
Nice captions They're pretty funny! Looks like a blast.
Andreas sounds awfully excited, go have a beer with him. Friday here, back peddle is later and later but happening all the same. Plan is to go up the range again and smack a few then down the rugby club but it's a big effort so I'm, as you know, easily blown off course by the slightest ermm, blow. We'll see, looking forward to yous coming back for a bit.
The Big Trip is exactly what it says on the tin. We'll be visiting roughly 50 countries over the next 18 months or so, travelling from Istanbul all the way east to Tokyo and back before sauntering from Cairo to Capetown, crossing the Atlantic and heading northwards from Patagonia to Miami. It ain't a trip for the faint-hearted but we're sure you'll enjoy the ride.......... full info
