Hi Dee. Istanbul brought back many memories of the 60s. The rest just reinforces my desire to make Turkey before too long.
Head off in 2 weeks for Europe so contact may be a bit less often for a while. Am really enjoying your blogs and am very impressed with your technical skills.

You are an awesome blogger! I am definately going to have to add all of these amazing places onto my list when I go on my OE!! They all look incredible and it looks like you are having an amazing time! xox
Great Page Hi Dee page looks great brought back some great memories. Glad to hear you have arrived safely in Russia. Have a great time and keep in touch.
Hey Dee - page looks great. I had a wonderful time with you in turkey. Hope Russia is going well, i only had 2 weeks, I don't know about 6mths though. Hope you settle in soon and can't wait for the 2nd half of turkey. No wonder you were in the internet cafe for 6 hours that day. See you Nicky
Thanks for the blog - looking forward to the one from Gallipoli. Must show these ones to Janice and Mev - they will recognise so many places! Istanbul looks the same as it did to us 33 years ago!!! I be the ouzo and raki taste the same too!
Amazing pictures! Wow - your tour of Turkey was pretty amazing! I loved your pictures. It looks like you had a wonderful time. I keep an eye on these blogs because I like to see what others witness when they come to Turkiye - I lived there for 2 years and am returning (eventually...). I'm glad you got over your bug - it would have been unfortunate to have been sick in Fethiye! I still haven't done the balloon tour of Cappadocia, but it's on my list! It looks like it was phenomenal. Great blog!
Dee - lovely to see all your Egypt pictures and re-live the memories (and think about that warm sun!). Hope you have a great time now that you have arrived in St Petersburg.
Turkey Many thanks for the sights. Can almost feel we are there. What a surprise to meet up with Micheal. Must tell the Adams's next door-they are Micheals 2nd home when he is here.Frosts here this morning.Brrr!!
Hope all is well with you.Take care. Looking foreward to the next blog
Greetings from Ireland Hi Dee, Laura here, one of the Irish girls you met in the Athens hostel. Have been checking out your blogs since i came home. Thanks for keeping me both entertained and inspired. Have been busy planning my 6 wk trip to south Korea and China this Summer. So keep up the good work and enjoy the rest of your travels. Laura
greece Hi Dee. You keep on bringing back so many memories. I went to the same Greek isalnds as you the second year after leaving Waiuku College. I went to Mykonos as well. Could just visualise you sitting sipping Greek wins in that taverna in Santorini. Isn't susset devine there? I liked sharing it with my ouzo!!!
Of course we toured all of mainland Greece in the 60s and I loved both the land and the people. I too thought that Delphi was a real highlight - difficult to descrive the atmosphere on the way up or at the site but I remember it vividly.
I set off in June - getting close now. I am a great admirer of your technical expertise in mastering the photos etc on your blog - very impressive and I am greatly enjoying them.
Lots of love

Trip Observations Hi Dee
Have just looked at your wonderful pictures of Greece, they bring back great memories as Barry and I were there 26 yrs ago. Its a great lifesyyle travelling around the world, glad you're making the most of it. We hv just come back from some travel ie walking the Queen Charlotte Track, doing it slow in 9 days. We went with all the kids, just fantastic being in the bush and out of the city. We had a bit of hassle leaving Auckland due to fog so had to catch later flights. While we were waiting Emma and Dan pass by after having been down to Queenstown. It was so neat to see them. They were very proud their mother and her adventures!
Keep the news and photos rolling. It was great you caught up with Cate.
Cheers and love
Frances and Barry n family
wow again! My Goodness Dee... I love getting your blogs! So inspiring because Auckland rain is setting in now... so nice to dream of far away places that catch your heart and soul!!!!!!! I am hoping to go to greece next year - who knows... it may happen... a thunderstorm is rattling wildly this morning - its quiet in the office as nobody else is in here yet.... oh to be able to tuck back into bed and read a book on a day like this!!!!
Happy travelling, and i look forward to seeing the next part of your adventure!
Love and hugs
Jo

Hi from Dee. I’ve taken a year’s leave from my job of more than 25 year’s teaching and am preparing to set off on my “Big OE”; better late than never! This is a practise, with instructions from son Dan who is an experienced traveller/blogger, to make sure I can work the “Travel Blog” OK before I leave New Zealand on 26th Feb 2006. The photo is me with Dan and Emma yesterday at "Groove in the Park" in Auckland Domain. I hope to visit internet cafes and update weekly but will have to work that one out when I’m on the road.
I’ll be travelling to Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Egypt... full info
