to Hilary
Many thanks for your comments. I have sent you an email as requested.

Thanks Wil
Thanks for you comments. Its a great walk and I'm glad you enjoyed it too apart from those flies on the plateau!! Not so many walkers about when you were there as it usually gets a bit too hot.

Corfu Trail
Hi I was at Anna's office today and she told me about your walk along the Trail and your blog (which I have archived for later reading). I am Hilary who set up the Trail, and I wonder if we could link with this blog for my new Trail website. Also, if I could have use of photos for the site (in high resolution)??? I'd also like to write an article about your Shrek project as if would be nice for the Trail and for the Dunkey Sanctury, which we support. The article will be for my magazine The Corfiot. I will read your blobs about Shrek and then ask some questions... OK? Please let me know your feelings about the above. Please reply via my email. Thanks. Hilary

walking the trail all over again
We returned from Corfu on the 19th of June after walking The Trail. Reading your blog brought it all back again. We had no rain at all during our stay. Found the whole thing an incredible experience and would recommend it to anyone who shows the slightest interest. We walked much longer than the estimated times stated, got lost on more than a few occasions, bitten to smithereens on the plateau when we were heading for the watertank (your blog made me laugh about it but it wasn't funny at the time!). You walked the trail before us as Anna told us about you spotting the martin! And we didn't meet a soul doing the trail. Nice pictures as well.

Rabbits.
The pool is filled by the restaurant staff and is also frequested by the pheasants and the odd pidgeon though the rabbits, if there will try to scare them away.

Rabbits!
Thank you for putting this one up Dave! I love the way they have a canopy to provide shade whilst drinking and stop the water getting warm. Who fills up the pools? And did you see any other animals drinking there? I didn't mention you eating rabbit in your earlier blogs . . . I realised that you wouldn't be bothered so much about it, not like me who finds them too cute and fluffy to want to eat . . . but I always remind myself that they are (nearly always) free range which means their life would have been good. I definitely don't agree with FARMED rabbits!

Rabbits
Annabel, I'm surprised you didn't comment about fact that I ate rabbit stifado before going to Vidos to see rabbits!! No I didn't feed them but they are brave enough to eat from your hands, they like biscuit and crispbread. There is even a small water pool for them with a sunshade near the Taverna - I'll post a photo just for you of it.

Those rabbits!
Good pics of bell towers, and lovely views and wildlife, but was blown away by those rabbits! Sharing a piece of ?lettuce? or something green. Did you throw it down there for them to eat? It's such a great picture, I want it on my desktop!

My favourite blog entry
Glad you liked; eye was ok by end of the day, a good sweat during the day cleansed it naturally and a shower at night completed the job; think I got deet into it when mozzie spraying. Tomorrow I'm back in Corfu Town for the last day of my holiday and just for you there will be bell towers! No cats, rabbits instead.

My favourite blog entry
This was a great blog entry! Some fab photos, those amazing clouds, and that Port-a-loo - women only, quite right too! Was sorry to see that picture of your eye, Dave, looked v swollen, hope is all better now. My fave pics - the camouflaged goats (had to look really closely too see them, if you hadn't have mentioned it in the picture caption I wouldn't have noticed them!) and that poor old cat all curled up and looking old and sorry for himself! But I bet he has a great life just sitting in the sun and enjoying the views, and a bit of meze now and then!

The hidden aerial
David, if you look closely with a magnifying glass if need be bottom just left of centre you can see what looks like a small pencil mark........that is the aerial (or a piece of it)!

St Spiridion
Dave just imagine how bad the weather could have turned out if you hadn't lit that candle??!! Try as I may I can't spot the aerial on Pantokrator but I'll take your word for it!! You've accomplished something very special and deserve to be immensely proud of that. Your Blogs and photos have brought the whole walk 'alive' for everyone. Thanks for making such an effort to share it with us in addition to all the physical exertion and mental strength required to complete such a challenge. Dave congratulations on your superb achievement. Keep the Faith!! David

Monk
Hi Annabel, sorry no photo of Monk feeding his cats. Hope you enjoy todays entry with the clouds. And that poor sleeping cat that looks 100 years old! And that special photo for Ian, my ghost writer entitled 'Green with envy!'

The Weather.....part 2
And David, wait till you read the weather and see the pictures on the last days walking
22nd June 2010

The Weather
Well David, on Day 1 you will recall I lit a candle at St Spiriodon's Church to ask for safe travels and good weather! Say no more. The Islanders believe in him and now, so do I.
22nd June 2010

The Weather!
Unbelievable! I refer to the fact that the sun came out the nearer you got to the top! Your photos are excellent Dave. I still think your adventure warrants a book! David

Beech Marten
Yes it was furry. It was a real thrill to have seen one for real; that was the real bonus of walking solo; it would never have happened if I'd have been in a group. I have large prints of pictures in my longe at home and still feel a tingle of excitment when I look at them.
22nd June 2010

Awww!
That Beech Marten! Those photos are so cool. I wish I could have seen him in real life. Was he furry?

Auction of Shrek for Corfu DonkeyRescue
I now have a bid from Germany of £35 for Shrek. All money to go directly to CDR. Shrek will be posted to the highest bidder with his feathers and photos of him on the Trail. Still time to bid...........4 days to go.

Book Cover
I wonder what John Waller thinks!

Book Cover
I much prefer your alternative cover. Shrek enhances a lovely view. David

Food!
Annabel you know me.......it was the beer that kept me going!!! I could post photos of food as well but that would be going a bit too far for all my hungry readers..........so I'll stick to descriptions and just post beer with the odd meze. But just to annoy the Ghost writer I will post more SARDINES with beer tomorrow!! Haha
18th June 2010

Food!
Dave your food descriptions make me so hungry and I have only just finished my lunch! Nice set of pics again, but that one of your foot on the previous day makes me realise what a challenge you have completed, all that walking, with a bad foot as well! At least the nice food and views helped you a bit on your way.. Love Annabel
